ABC Challenge!

Hi there!  Yikes!!  Monday just kind of snuck up on me today!  I found myself wishing this morning that the weekend had just one more day in it! LOL Oh well!  Since it is here I say bring on the new week!!!  I have a ginormous TO DO list this week!!  I mean tons and tons of stuff to do!!  First though........I have an ABC Challenge card to share with you!  The challenge today is to use at least three different DSP's on your card! Here is what I came up with for this one:

I tried several different layouts, but felt like they all looked too busy.  I finally settled on this one with two of the pieces just barely peeking out from the side and the third one running in the other direction down the front!

I embossed an old envelope with the Alphabet Press EF and added some faux stitching to each of the pieces to add a little extra visual interest.  I fed my DSP into the Label Bracket Punch and pulled it up through the middle to get this fun little shape.  This is such an awesome bicycle stamp! Love, love, love!

The details:
Stamps: Timeless Talk
Paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla and In Color DSP
Ink: Coastal Cabana
Punches and Dies: Label Bracket Punch and Alphabet Press EF
Extras: Rhinestones

Come on over to the ABC Challenge blog to check out all the other challenge cards!  We would love to have you play along!

I will be back tomorrow with lots to share from the awesome envelope class I had recently!  Have a wonderful day! (Even if it is Monday!)

Christmas Card Sunday #39

Why hello!  Having a good weekend?  It has gone by so quickly!  Seems like Thursday was just rolling in and now the whole weekend is almost history.  LOL  I have another Christmas card to share with you today. I was laying in bed last night thinking about today's card and this design popped into my head.  It is a simple one, but I think I really like it! What do you think:

It has lots of layers! It has some embossing and some punching and some framelit cutting!  No sponging this time and no faux stitching.

I really, really, really (really!) like the silver glimmer paper!!  It just really adds that little something to a project.

The Details:
Stamps: Joyous Celebration
Paper: Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Silver Glimmer paper
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Punches and Dies: Snow Flurry Framelits, Stripes EF and Dotted Ribbon Scallop Border punch
Extras: None

Hope that you enjoy the rest of your weekend! I will be back soonest with more to share!

Thinking of you, chicken!

Hello!  Oh my goodness is it ever pretty out today?!!  I just spent almost an hour outside enjoying the beautiful day and playing with my daughter's chickens!!  My youngest daughter decided a while ago that she wanted chickens!  So, she did her research, saved her money and bought herself some!  Funniest thing about chickens...you order them and once they hatch a day later they arrive in the mail!! Our mail lady called to say there was an awful lot of peeping coming from a box with our name on it and we should come in!  She ordered 20 and got a freebie.  So, she started out with 21.  Sadly, we lost three right away.  The trip was just too much for the little guys. :(  My kiddo has turned out to be a great mama hen though because she has 18 happy, healthy peepers today!!  She goes out every day and feeds them and changes their water and moves their little pen around so that they always have fresh grass and new bugs to munch.   About a month and a half ago we had a chicken injury.  We all pitched in and have managed to nurse her back to health though! Yay!!  Her name is Henrietta and she is the sweetest chicken you will ever meet!  I just love her!!  Needless to say, she gets a few extra scraps from me when I dump the bucket for them. ;) She runs to you when you go to visit and likes to be picked up and held!  She is also a great listener! LOL  Hmmmm, guess I am feeling a bit word-y today!!  On to the reason you stopped by today:

I made this card from some left over scraps on my table!  Do you recognize that frame?  It is the negative of the Lattice Big Shot Die. I embossed it along with the card base, but left all of the Whisper White pieces flat for contrast.

I tied a piece of jute twine around it for a little bit of added interest.  It is kind of a busy card, but I think I like it! :)

Also, thought since I rambled like a nut in the beginning of the post I would share a couple of other shots with you!  This is our sweet Henrietta!

Just doing her chicken thing!

This is my adorable daughter the chicken farmer!

Here is a picture of one of our cats (Rooster) who thinks she is in charge of chicken sitting!  She considered chasing them once they started getting loose (they are little escape artists if I hadn't mentioned that bit before!), but  one of them turned on her and flapped it's mighty wings at her. I think it must have scared the purr right out of her because they all get along very well now!!  No one chases anyone anymore! LOL

Here she is keeping a watchful eye on Henrietta.

This would be her lounging in one of the chicken shelters!  What a goof ball!

She is very sweet too!  If you frequent my blog you may recognize her!  She likes to help me take my pictures! :)

Ok, I believe I have blabbed  in your ear quite enough today!  I hope that your day is a wonderful one too!

I will be back soonest with more to share!

Bagalope Boooooo!

Hello!  I have the cutest little bag to share with you guys today!  It is a bagalope and is made from an envelope!  Have you seen these cute things around?  This would make the most fun little candy holder for a little treat for someone of if you give out candy at Halloween these would be fun to make!!  Here is the one I made:

I used an A2 card sized envelope and sealed it shut.  I scored it on both long sides and then across the bottom at 3/4".  I ran the whole thing through the Chevron EF and then stamped it and colored it.  I cut off the sealed end that wasn't scored to give my bag an opening.

Open the whole thing up and flatten the bottom.  This will give you two pointy pieces.  Just crease the score lines good and glue them flat against the bottom of your new bag! I punched two holes on the top and inserted the ribbon.  You would want to put your candy or goodies in before this step!!

I stamped the little piece of candy and fussy cut it.  I folded a small strip of paper accordion style and glued the candy to one end  and the other end behind my scallop circle to give it a bouncy little spring!

This is the back of the envelope/bag.  These are so easy and fun to make!  You can use any size envelope.  Just be sure to score them all at the same measurement.

The Details:
Stamps: Halloween Hello
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie and More Mustard markers
Punches and Dies: 1  1/4" Circle, Scallop Circle and Chevron EF
Extras: Dimensionals and White Gel Pen

You should try one of these!  They really are a lot of fun to make!!

It is all rainy and dreary here again today!    Makes me want to snuggle up with a good book and a giant cup of tea!!

Enjoy the rest of your day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

With enough coffee...

....I really could rule the world!!  Hiya!  How are you?  Are you a coffee drinker?  I sure am!  I have a giant half cup every single day!  LOL  My very sweet and wonderful (and handsome!!) hubby makes me coffee every morning and brings it to me in bed!  (I feel like that makes me the luckiest girl ever!)  See,  I love the way coffee smells and I really, really enjoy my half cup, but that seems to hit the spot and makes me happy all day long.  :)  Speaking of which, have you seen the adorable Stampin Up! set called Perfect Blend?  It is so cute!  My card today uses that set.  Take a look:

See!  Isn't that a cute coffee stamp?

I stamped the cup twice and popped it up on dimensionals.  I also punched the Label Bracket punch twice and matted the pink against the brown.  The cute flower stamp is from the Create a Cupcake stamp.

The Details:
Stamps: Perfect Blend and Create a Cupcake
Paper: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush and Soft Suede
Ink: Soft Suede and Strawberry Slush
Punches and Dies: 1  1/4" Circle and Label Bracket punch
Extras: Rhinestones

I have about 8 projects all going on at once today so I better scoot!  Hope that you have a great day! I will be back soonest with more to share.

Christmas Card #38

Good Sunday morning to you! We are up to week # 38 of my personal  Christmas card challenge!!  Have you been playing along with me? I would LOVE to see your cards!!!  I have really enjoyed making these Christmas cards!   I have another one to share with you from my Christmas card class yesterday!  This was the fourth card we made in class:

This is a very simple card, but I just love it!!

We stamped a word-y border stamp along the edge and then the classic tree from Lovely as a Tree. The sentiment is stamped separately, punched out and adhered to the top front.  We added some Dazzling Detail snowflakes into the tree and one single rhinestone to the punched piece.

The Details:
Stamps: Background Builders and Tags 4 You
Paper: Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler
Punches and Dies: Label Bracket punch
Extras: Dazzling Details and Rhinestones

We are down to about 14 weeks until Christmas!!  Yikes!!

Lots to do today so I am off to get busy!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

Christmas card class!

Hello and happy weekend to you!  I just finished up my first early morning brunch class!  I normally schedule my classes at night, so this a new thing! I must say it was very fun!  I wasn't quite sure how the time thing would work out, but it went pretty darn smooth! :) It was a Christmas card class so we made 8 cards; two each of four different designs.  Want to see them: (Sorry about the stinky lighting...too wet to take pictures outside. :( )

Card #1

This uses the new Pretty Print EF.  Also, the Circles framelits to cut out the sentiment and matte.  The strip of silver fancies it up and breaks up all of that red!

Card #2

Double layered that poinsettia and masked it to get those leaves tucked behind!

We slathered it in Dazzlings Details.  It is very sparkly and pretty in person!

Card #3

We used the Big Shot Lattice die, Festive Flurry Framelits and more of that gorgeous silver Glimmer paper for this one!

I will save the last one for tomorrow!

Wish you could have come to class!  There were muffins and doughnuts and coffee cake! ;)  I will be sure to set you a place next class!

It is cool and rainy here today.  A little bit dreary really.  It is making want to take a nap! LOL  Hope you are enjoying your weekend!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

Feeling Fall!

Hello there! Happy Friday to you! :)  I have another Fall flavored card to share with you today!  I needed a thank you card for a special friend and since I am feeling  Fall to my toes I went with these colors again!
I embossed the background and used the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon punch to make my side borders.  I made a banner  and wrapped it with some jute twine.  I secured it in back with a piece of tape.

I stamped that pretty leaf in Pumpkin Pie and ran around the edges of it with a Cherry Cobbler marker.  I really like  the look that gives it.

The Details:
Stamps: Wonderfall and Lots of Thanks
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede
Punches and Dies: Dotted Ribbon Scallop Border and Stripes EF
Extra: Jute Twine and Dimensionals

I am off to the grocery store!!  Anyone need anything? :)

Have a wonderful day!

My heart is happy!  Take a look at this yummy cake my kids made:
