Paper Princess February Challenge!!!

Hello!  Is it raining on you today?!  It has been rainy and yucky here all morning long!  The sun keeps trying to peek through but the angry clouds are winning so far!  I am not complaining though!  I secretly love rainy days! :)

I have a card to share with you today!  I belong to a wonderful group of blogging girlies and we are having another round of competing card kit challenges!  We have split into two groups and each month the hostess (Hiya Terria!!) sends everyone an identical card kit.  We all have to use up all of the goodies in the kit and make a card!  I absolutely LOVED the kit Terria sent!  I had a great time making my card.  Here is a sneak peak of the kit:

And here is my finished card:

I tore the two papers that Terria sent on the edge, distressed them and sponged them with Chocolate Chip to try to make them look dirty and worn.  I layered them on Crumb Cake ( that I also sponged the edges of).  I cut out the stamped images that she sent, added a little bling to the spurs and pop dotted them on.  I crimped a strip of left over blue, added the brads and the string to the edges and called it done! Yeeeeee-haaaaaw!  I happen to have a soft spot in my heart for cowboys so this was a really fun little project!   Would you like  to see the awesome cards made by the rest of me team?!  Take a peek:

Thank you Terria for a great card kit and challenge!  I will be back soonest with more to share!  I hope that your day is wonderful! :)

Happy birthday to yooooooou!

Hey there!  Can you believe it is Friday already?!  This year is flying by so quickly!  I wanted to share a birthday card that I made for my sweet daughter-in-law-to-be!  She turned 21 this week and so we had a mini party complete with a giant Chinese food dinner and a chocolate fondue dessert!  Yummm!  We dipped strawberries, raspberries, bananas, pears, pineapples, pretzels, chips, crackers and marshmallows into melted chocolate! She knows how to party!  Here is the card I made for her:

She is such a sweet girl and we all feel very lucky to be welcoming her into our family!  She is a perfect fit! :)

Here is the birthday girl and her sweetie (my oldest son):

Have a great day!  Be back soonest! :)

Share the love!

Hello!  Hope that you had a very happy and love filled Valentine's day!  I was lucky enough to spend the day with some of my very favorite Valentine's. :)  I happen to think Valentine's Day is a wonderful invention!  I mean how can you go wrong celebrating a day by sharing chocolate and wrapping things up with all kinds of pink frilly layers! I had a blast making oodles of Valentine's using this super easy, fun envelope idea I eye spy-ed on Lyssa's blog here.  I stuffed these with chocolate and love!  Here are some of the Valentine's I made and shared:

I found these crimp best if you stamp the bottom half rather than adding paper, but they were just so pretty with paper that I just could not resist!  These bigger envelope's hold quite a bit of chocolate goodness too!  These are especially fun because you can use them for any holiday by just changing the colors!

I will be back soonest with more Valentine's goodies to share!  Hope that you are having a great day!

Whoooo's having a bird-day?!

Hi there!  Hubby's cousin's baby girl is celebrating her 1 year old birthday this weekend and since her invitation arrived sporting an adorable owl I thought I would stick to the theme and make an owl card!  I used some pink and some bling and of course the super cute owl from Stampin Up!s owl punch on her card.  What do you think:
This punch is so much fun and has so many possibilities!  Owls do come in pink, don't they?!
Here is the outside:

The card with it's matching owl envelope:

The owl-y inside:

Stamps: Curly Cues, Aviary (owl's belly made from cage bars) and Punch Bunch
Paper: Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Whisper White and Perfectly Pear
Ink: Melon Mambo and Old Olive
Other: Tulip EF, Owl Punch and Pop Dots

I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend!  I will be back soonest with more to share!  Big hug!

Thinking about you!

Hello!  Friday already...I think?!  I am so confused as to what day it is anymore!  I hardly know if I am coming or going!  We are spending about 30% of our time at home and the other 70% of our time about 4 hours away at my oldest son's house. So I have about 30% of my stamping supplies at his house and the other 70% at home!  In short, it makes creating anything at all a challenge 100% of the time!! LOL

Despite the madness I do have a card to share with you today!  It is a happy card that made me happy to make!  I love flowers!  I would have oodles of fresh flowers all over the place all the time if I could!  I used one of the fun new Sale-A-Bration sets to make it.  I would love to tell you the name, but since it is 4 hours away and my mind has become somewhat old and feeble that will have to wait!   Here is the card in all of it's nameless beauty:

Sorry about the stinky lighting.  I took it inside because it was windy outside!  *Note to self...take pictures outside from now on!*  I used Melon Mambo, Perfectly Pear and Whisper White paper and the matching  inks plus Chocolate Chip.  I added Rose Red ribbon and some of the cute Stampin Up! pearls.  The sentiment is from the Curly Cues stamp set.

Also thought I would share a few photo's from a recent outing that we took!  We loaded the whole family up and went to the National Smithsonian Air and Space museum.  It was really neat!   Here is everyone looking at one of the many planes:

Hubby in a Cesna:

The actual Enterprise Space Shuttle (too cool!!).  It was enormous!  Notice the astronaut suspended in the top left corner!  Loved that!

Some of the many, many planes we saw:

It was really an interesting thing to see!  So much history in one place!  The kids rode in a flight simulator and we went to the tippy top of an Observation Tower to watch the planes land at the Dulles airport.  My favorite part of the whole day though was having all my kids in one place!  Family time is so important to me and this just made my warm and fuzzy button go nuts! LOL

Hope that you have a wonderful Friday!  I will be back soon with more to share!

Thinking about you hybrid card!

Hey there!  Today's card is kind of a hybrid card!  I spent hours working on Christmas cards that I never got to send out this past Christmas due to extenuating circumstances.  So, when I needed a card to stick into a friend's package I grabbed one of these cards and changed the sentiment from a holiday one to a simple thinking of you!  Worked out just fine! :)  Here is my hybrid holiday/thinking of you card:

This is a design from a card I received and CASED from a swap at Convention this past year!  It was one of my all time favorite of all 400 of them!  Sadly, there was no name on it.  If this is your design please let me know because I would love to give you credit.  I had a wonderful time making these!

I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend!  They breeze by way to fast so be sure to take some time to really enjoy it!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

Flipping Part two!

Hello...Friday!!  Ready for the weekend?  I have another gymnastics thank you gift to share with you today!  These cutie's are on a little bit bigger of a box.  This gift was for my daughter's primary coach so I wanted it to be a little bigger than the others.  Coaches and teachers and people that take time out of their lives to work with your children are truly special people.  I wanted her coaches to know that they have made an impact on her life by sharing their time with her. I feel like thank yous are really important.

Here is the thank you we shared:

Side #1

                                                                          Side #2
                                                                         Side #3
Side view

The matching card.

The box is a 2-4-6-8 box cut almost in half.  The little gymnasts are all made from punches.  The punches used to make these cute flippers are:
Punches: Small Tag, Small Flower from 3 punch pack, Word Window, 1" Circle (all Stampin Up!)
I used the Scallop Border trim on the top of the box to pretty it all up!  I used the Stamp Set Tiny Tags to make the matching card.

If you haven't thanked your children's coaches or teacher's or mentor's lately, consider doing so!  It makes them happy and lets them know they are appreciated!

Have a wonderful day!  I will be back soonest with more craft-y stuff to share!

I flip for you!

Hello!  How are you today?  I  have a cute project to share with you! I needed to make up some quick thank you gifts for my youngest daughter's gymnastic coaches so I searched SCS for anything gymnastics related and found the cutest little punch art flippers and tumblers!  You can see them here.  I made quickie little candy boxes by cutting 5 x 5 squares and scoring them at 1" and 3" and turning the square and doing it again so that I scored a tic tac toe board.  I stamped tiny little thank you's all over them and then cut the score lines and folded them into cute little boxes perfect for stuffing with chocolate!  Next I made these sweet little punch art tumblers and pop dotted them onto the front of the boxes.  Here they are:

Punches: Small Tag, Small Flower from 3 punch pack, Word Window, 1" Circle (all Stampin Up!)
Colors: Melon Mambo, Brocade Blue, So Saffron, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake

I have another gymnastics related project to show you tomorrow!  See you then!  Have a great day!
