Why thank you very much!

Hello there!  This week has just flown by. We have been busy, busy. Lots going on right now! Despite all of that,  I have been trying to spend a little bit of quality time surrounded by my stamps every day.  There is so much truth in the statement that daily creating does feed the soul.  So, I made a card this morning and wanted to share it with you guys.

I used the Hostess set Background Bits for this card.  It is an awesome set, Lots of really pretty stamps that work well together or that can hold their own alone.  I wanted a simple card, but with lots of contrast and I think this one fits the bill!

I stamped in Basic Black and Powder Pink on Whisper White paper.  I was undecided whether to go with silver or gold for my contrast color, but gold won out this time.  I think this would be pretty with silver too though.

I absolutely love the new In Color Powder Pink.  I am a nut for most shades of pink, but this one is soft and sweet looking.  I stamped using it on the base of the card and the base of the circle. I stamped the image of the flowers on top of it using Basic Black.  I used a 3/4" circle punch for the smallest circle and then matted a 2" Circle onto a 2 1/4" Circle. Circles have a softer look to them than squares...no corners!

Here are the products I used to create this little guy:

Ok, I better get back to that busy that I mentioned earlier.  Hope you have a great day!  I'll be back soonest with more to share. :)

You shine!

Hello and happy Wednesday!  Hope you are doing well today.  I've been playing and stamping this morning and challenged myself to make a card today using a mixture of new and old product.  It's always fun to see things come together and I love seeing the way fun new products can breath new life into already loved toys.  I pulled out an oldie, but a goody, the Blossom Builder punch and went to work.  Here is the card I made:

I used the new Petal Garden DSP and combined a sentiment from High Tides stamp set and the fun splooshy background stamp from Playful Backgrounds.  I double matted the sentiment and roughed up the edges to add a little more texture.

I built the flower using the Blossom Builder punch and dimensionals.  I dipped the edges of each petal into the Berry Burst ink pad and then covered the whole thing with the Wink of Stella glitter pen.

Here is a better picture of the flower.  Hope you can see the shimmer.  I added a Faceted Gem to the center for even more shine.

Dimensionals in the middle make the flower look nice and full and help to keep the petals in place.

Here are all of the goodies I used to make my card today:

If you have any questions, feel free to zip me an email or leave me a comment.  Hope that you have a great day.  I will be back soonest with more to share.

Tulip thank you!

Well hello there! Hope you are doing well today.  I spent the morning playing around with the new hostess set Tranquil Tulips and I looooove it!  It is a two step stamp set with tons of possibilities.  There are so many stamps in the set that I had a hard time narrowing it down for my card.  I see lots of uses for this stamp set in my future (and I love a versatile stamp set!).  I needed a thank you card and the beautiful flowers from this set came to mind right away.  I paired it with Background Bits for the sentiment and my little card came right to life.  Take a peek-see:

I built the bouquet of flowers by doing some two step stamping.  If you are not familiar with that process, it basically means you build up a 3d looking image by layering stamped images on top of one another.  You can use the same color or different colors for different looks.  I used the same color for the larger tulips and 2 different colors for the smaller flowers.  The stems all use the same color, but lots of different stamps.  The combinations are limitless.

I stamped the script from the Background Bits set three times on the large Very Vanilla piece to fill in some of the white space.  I added a punched 1" Circle and a tiny little piece of the new Copper Trim.  That is the neatest stuff.  You can use it like ribbon or spread it apart to get more of a netting look.  It has a beautiful copper shimmer to it.

Here is a close up view of the flower bouquet.

I also made a second flower just playing around with the different stamps.  Think I'll save this one for a tag!

I'll be back soonest with more to share wit you!   Have a great day!
