Window box treat holder!

Hey there friends! *Swooooosh....slides in!*  What a nutty day I have had!  My to do lists have to do lists today!  I have been on the go since my peepers peeped opened this morning!  Feels like I have a ton of things all happening at once and I am trying to keep everything all balanced and moving forward.  I did make time to sit down in my stamp room and create a little project though and wanted to stop by to share it with you!  Take a peek see:

I made a fun little treat holder and matching card using the Window box Thinlit dies!

My little card measures 3 1/2" x 4" and has a Pool Party base and a Very Vanilla matted top piece.  I used the large die to cut out all these little pieces and stamped a simple little hello greeting from the stamp set Eastern Beauty on the front.  Easy peasy!

This die cut is absolutely stunning!

I made the box by cutting the box thinlit shape two times and assembling it with Tear and Stick tape.  I cut out the little heart panels 6 times and added one to each side of the box.

I made the flower by combining  pieces from the Blossom Builder punch with the Pansy punch.  I separated the layers with dimensionals to give it some personality and added the blue center and topped it with a Gold Faceted Gem.   Then since I had all those cute little hearts left over from cutting the panels, I added one to each side.  It helped to fill in the extra space and plus they are just so cute!

Close up of the flower.

The goods inside the box!  This cute little box holds just enough candy for a yummy treat and keeps it hidden until the recipient can open it.  Makes for a really fun gift set.

Here are the things I used to put all of this together:

Ok, I am off back to the madness!!  Hope that your day is a full and productive one too!  I will be back soonest with more to share with you!  Big inky hug!

Shake it, baby!!

Hello there! Shake, shake, shake....shake, shake, shake...shake it baaaaaby!!   Have you seen any of the shaker cards that are making their rounds right now?  They are such fun cards to make and even more fun to receive! They offer that little bit of a surprise element to your card and who doesn't love a card with a surprise in it (granted money would be a more fun surprise!), but you know what I mean! I made a shaker card this morning and have just about shook the stuffing out of that thing! LOL Would you like to see?

I cut the oval out using the Layering Oval Framelits and embossed the front of the card using the Pinewood Dynamic Embossing Folder. I layered on some Pansy's from the Pansy punch and then added centers to them using the 3/4" Circle punch.  I embossed the centers using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.  The leaves are from the Flourishing Framelits set.

This is what the card looks like "all shook up!".  I intended to use window sheets for the front of my shaker window, but when I went to pull them from my stash I realized I was out!!  Yikes!  *Note to self...order more window sheets!*  Since I was determined to make a shaker card though, I took out my trusty laminator and ran through a laminating sheet.  Worked like a charm!

I adhered the 'window sheet' to the inside back of my card and then added foam adhesive strips on top of it creating a bowl to hold the sequins in.  I poured in some sequins and backed it with a piece of Crumb Cake (which I had already matted with Whisper White and stamped a sentiment on to).  Then I took a piece of Crumb cake card stock and cut it to 4 1/2" x 5 1/2".  I scored it at 1/2" along the 5 1/2" side creating the new card base center fold. Using Tear and Stick tape I  tucked that little flap between the two top panels to add on the back of the card.  It's not nearly as complicated as it sounds, but if anyone needs clarification, please feel free to contact me! :)

Shake, shake, shake!

I gently folded up the petals of the flowers to give them a more realistic look and  to add some 3d-ness  (Like my fancy technical term?) to the card.  I feel like it makes it more visually appealing than a flat card.

Here is a list of all the goodies I used on today's card!  Click any one of them to be magically transported to my store!

I am off to try to get some more things done around the house!  I have several cleaning/organizing type things going on and we are still working on laying our hard wood floors!  I hope you are having a good week and I look forward to visiting here with you again soon! I'll be back soonest with more to share!

Just breathe...

Hello there!  Well, it's only Tuesday, but it's already been one of those (*rolls eyes!*) kind of weeks. I could definitely use a little time away!  The beach is calling to me, as it so often does.  Are you a beach person? I love, love, (cannot stress enough!!) love the beach!!  It is sincerely my happy place.  Toes in the sand, salt water breezes blowing my hair messy and the sound of the ocean rushing in and rolling out.  It sincerely soothes my soul. My card today was completely inspired by it!  Want to see?

Doesn't that make you just want to dig your piggies into the cool, wet sand and listen to the day waste away?  Man, it does me! I started by creating a Pool Party card base and then cut out the oval using the Over Layering Framelits.  I made sand by tearing some Crumb Cake paper and then colored the top with Wink of Stella and added a few seashell stamps!  No day at the beach is complete without some cool drinks, so I stamped and added those as well!

I added the waves on the inside using the Seasonal Layers Framelits and colored the tops with a White Gel pen and then added more Wink of Stella for some extra sea sparkle!

Here it is laying flat with the waves peeking through!  The sea gulls flying up above are from the High Tide stamp set. Can't you just hear them cawing away?

This is what the inside looks like. I added more sand using the same tearing technique as on the front.

((Now, I really, really want to go to the beach!  LOL))

Here are the products I used to make my card today.  You can find everything you need to make a beach card of your own (sand not included! *giggles!*) in my online store.  Click any picture below and it will take you right to it!

I hope that you have a great day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!
