Hello!

Hello! It is Monday and time to get the week started! I have another one of those cards that came to be by throwing together a bunch of scraps that happened to be laying around on my scrap table!   Phew!  That was a mouthful! I am one of those crafters that lets the remnants of  a bazillion projects pile so high on my table that stuff is trying constantly to tumble to the ground!  I often have to move (by move I mean pile things even higher!) things around just to use my cutter and I am always having to move and shift (read re-pile here!) my piles to find stuff! Anyone else like that?!  Now don't get me wrong!!  I love organization and I love a tidy space...I just seem to be incapable of  keeping one for longer than a minute! LOL Around the time I lose my chocolate under too many or too big of piles is when I cry Uncle and clean my space...only to start over on a new project and a new pile! *big cheesy grin!*  Back to today's card which is the result of piles on my table:

Just a fun card to say hello!  I embossed,  I stamped, I even sponged!

The sentiment is from the Endless Birthday wishes set and so are those oh so cute dots on the Chocolate Chip base.  This simple card required 9 punches,   2 embossing folders, 5 different colors of papers and three different colors of ink.  (Starting to get an idea of just how big my piles were?! LOL)

Close up of the flower!  I thought they were kind of cute all stacked up like this!

Ok, well I am off to try to tame some of those piles so I can start some new projects!  I hope that the start of your week is a good one!!  Leave me a comment and let me know if you are a messy crafter or a neat one!  I would love to know!

Great day everyone!

Ridiculously amazing day!

Hello, hope that you are enjoying your weekend!  I thought I would stop by and share a card with you that I worked on this morning!  I needed a little pick me up so I pulled out several bright, happy colors and one of the awesome sets we got at Convention this year.  Here is what I came up with:

I used the stamp set Amazing Birthday.  I colored the different sections of this stamp with markers and then stamped it once and then a second time (in Strawberry Slush). I  fussy cut and popped the word "Make" up onto the front top.  I added some punched flowers and leaves to the image to further jazz it up.

I stamped the It's For You stamp (also from Amazing Birthday) and punched it out using the 1" Circle punch.  I kept the tiny leftover ring and added it to the top corner.  I punched out a 1 1/4" Scallop Circle from Basic Black and mounted it against that.  I added some polka dots to each of the scallops for a little more fun!

Here's a close up of the main image with all of it's details!  I also ran the front of the card through the Big Shot using the Decorative Dots EF.

Here is the inside of the card.  This stamp is also from the Amazing Birthday set!  It is full of cute stamps!!  A little tip: I punched the 1 1/4" Scallop circled (on the front) from the piece of Basic Black card stock that you see here.  It gets hidden with the top piece of Whisper White, so that is an easy way to get more use from your paper! Yay!

Ok, well I am off to make good use of the rest of this weekend.  I hope that your day is wonderful!  Much love!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

Triangle card and a fab deal!!

Hello!  Happy soggy Friday to you!  Is it raining on your head?  It is raining here and isn't supposed to actually quit until Monday! Normally I wouldn't mind even a little bit, but I have lots to do this weekend and the rain won't make it any easier to get done!  Oh well!  It will make the grass and gardens happy!  I have a fun little card to share with you today and news of an awesome deal from Stampin' Up!  One of those too good to pass up kind of deals!  Card first though...!

This is a Triangle card!  I have seen these little cuties all over the place and then one day while blog surfing came across one that my sweet and very talented friend Kelly Gettelfinger had made and I decided to give it a try!  It is always nice to add a fun new twist to cards!

I fancied this one all up with some pretty DSP and some festive flowers and a happy, happy sentiment!  It opens at the top so you can add your personalized message on the inside!

Then I made a matching envelope to go with it!

Envelope with top flap up/open.

Here they are together!

The card tucks beautifully inside!

Slips right down in there so you can close the flap and send it on it's merry way!

The card is made from a piece of card stock that is cut at 4 1/4" x 10 1/2" and scored at 5 1/4".  Once you score it you make a pencil mark on the non-fold side at 2 1/8" and the you cut diagonals off on either side starting from that point up to each corner.

The envelope is a 5 1/2" x 6" piece of DSP.   You score at  1/2" on the 6" side and then run adhesive on the folded over 1/2" scored piece. Then you match that little folded piece to the left hand side (opposite side) and stick the flap down.  Crease your sides at this point creating the triangle shape and fold down the top flap. There you have it!

Now for that cool deal I mentioned!! Take a look at this:

If you purchase a Big Shot this month you can get free goodies!!  If you have already purchased a Big Shot then you can get a 15% discount on Big Shot bundles!!  Click that picture for more details and to get the Big Shot fun started!!!  I know that I use my Big Shot just about EVERY time I make a project!  It cuts, it embosses and in some cases does both at the same time! LOL

Ok, be sure to email me with any questions!  I am off to get this day rolling!  Have a good one and try to stay dry! :)

Thinking of you!

Hi there! Can you believe that it is the middle of the week already?!  Sheesh, time really does fly!  I have a card to share with you today!  I was able to just sit down and play with no deadline or occasion in mind.  That always makes for nice, relaxed craft time...love it!   Here is what came together on my craft table:

I used the Hostess Bloom with Hope for my main image.  I stamped it onto Vellum with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and the colored it in from the backside using the fun, fun (did I mention fun?!!) new Blendabilities!  Once I turned it back over I added some white highlights with my handy, dandy trusted while gel pen.

I put a sheet of DSP from the pack Typeset behind the image to add some visual interest and then tied it all up with some Baker's Twine.  The dangling heart is to let the recipient know that not only am I thinking about them, but that I love them too! Awwww! :)

I used the Decorative Dots EF on the edge of the card and backed the main image with Rich Razzleberry.  The card base is Crumb Cake and there is a scalloped tag  peeking out from the top.  I challenge you today to let someone you care about know that you are thinking of them!

I hope that you have a good day!  Mine is a full one, so I am off to make busy!!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

Masking fun!

Hello, hello and happy Monday to you! Have you played with Stampin' Up!'s new masks yet?!  What a fun new toy they are!!  You have lots of options when using them too.  You can ink spritz, sponge, use markers and even stamp!!

This is what they look like:
(This is the polka dot and stripes pack, but you can also get them in adorable hearts and stars!)

I am going to show you how I used them with the spritzing bottles.  You can buy two spritzers for just $2.95!  They are totally re-usable too!

All you have to do is fill the bottle 2/3's of the way up with the alcohol and add a couple of drops of re-inker. The more drops you use the darker your color will be. You can use water, but the alcohol will dry much faster.  Remember you are working with paper and it doesn't really love getting wet!

You want to lay your mask down over your paper and then spray away!  I used Cherry Cobbler here.  The more spraying you do the more you increase your chance of bleeding or the ink running under the mask.  I tried several pieces of paper and lots of different spray amounts and this is one that I sprayed a lot!  I used the the one that I only sprayed lightly for the next couple of pictures:

I cut apart my sprayed piece and used it for the background on this card.

I used the Kinda Eclectic stamp set for my center image.  Also used several punches/Framelits:

Pansy Punch
1/2" Circle Punch
3/4" Circle Punch
1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch
Bitty Butterfly Punch
Circle Framelits
Starburst Framelits

I had a little piece leftover so I grabbed some of my scraps and made this little thank you treat bag!  The banner is made from my masked and sprayed piece of paper.

I thought they made a cute little set!

I had so much fun with that one that I sprayed again!  This time I used Mossy Meadow as my ink color and I used the polka dot mask.

Made a cute little tag using the Yippee-Skippee stamp set.

This would be perfect on a card!

Book mark using the Work of Art stamp set.

Made a little flower embellishment with the left over scrap!  Cute, cute, cute!

Here they are together!

You should really try these out!  Lots of fun!

Christmas in July!

Well hello there!  Do you hear those sleigh bells ring-a-ling?! Ting-ting-ting-a-ling toooo?!  We had such a merry time last night at our monthly club meeting!  Our theme was....Christmas in July!  One of my sweet, fun club girls even wore her Christmas shirt and earrings!! Good stuff! :)  Would you like to see some pictures from our evening?!

I made some fun food for the festive event!  These are jello treats!  They are cherry, lime and raspberry!  We topped them with mounds of cool whip, but I was too busy eating mine and forgot to click a pic! LOL

I thought they looked mighty festive against their bright red backdrop!

Our veggie tree with hummus for dipping!  We also had rice crispie treats and pretzels and delicious cinnamon sugar cookies that my wonderful DIL baked!!  (She is a fantastic baker!!)

Here is the table all dressed and ready to go!

I made everyone a fun little purse gift to say thank you for coming!
(Idea courtesy of the very talented Becky Roberts.)

Here are the projects we made at the party:
This card uses packing tape for that fun sparkle!  We put packing tape sticky side up and covered it with Dazzling Diamonds!  Absolutely love this technique!  :)
(Idea found on Pinterest!)

The ornament is being suspended with our beautiful silver trim ribbon.

Second card we made uses Post-It notes to mask off a portion of the card and then we sponged, sponged, sponged!  Sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (and the award goes to TTW for the most versatile stamp set EVER!!).

Flourish is from Everything Eleanor and the shimmer-y stars were punched from the Gold Glimmer paper.

Then we made a tag!  We used the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and the Petite Petals punch to make the wreath.

We added the tag topper to the top using the Scallop Tag Topper punch!

Finally we made some ornaments.

We used the Mixed Bunch stamp set and the coordinating punch.

Silver glimmer paper for the dangle-y down bits and silver trim ribbon for the hanger.

I also picked up a styrofoam tree and made this cute little guy as a table centerpiece.

I love Christmas in July!!  It was a blast spending it with such a great group of ladies too!

I do have another cute thing to share with you today!

Our beautiful grand pumpkin is 9 months old already!  She finally grew a couple of teeth!  She just lights up my whole day! :)

Ok, well I am off to do some organizing and enjoy the rest of the weekend!  Hope that you enjoy yours too! I will be back soonest with more to share!
