So, so, so excited!!! Part 1

Hello!  Hope you are having a great day. I have the neatest little project to share with you today.  I was blog surfing recently and came across this little cutie.  I believe the original credit belongs to Laura at Following the Paper Trail (who happens to be a paper genius btw!)  I almost fell over in my chair!  I love to make cards and love to scrapbook even more, but I think I have about decided that my true passion is in 3D projects and mini albums!  I just really love making them!  Ok, before I show you this little guy I have to let you know it is not finished, but I couldn't wait even one more minute to get it posted!!  I will show you it's outsides today and will show you some of the insides tomorrow!  Ready?!!  *bouncing up and down!!*  Take a look:

This is my little mini album!  Now when I say mini, I mean mini!!  Scroll down to see just how tiny this little guy is!

I made a little lollipop flower to go on the front and added it on a pop dot so I could wrap the string closure around it without it getting damaged.  It is tiny also!  I used two 3/4" strips to make it.  I accordion folded the strips and layered the ends over one another. Then I pulled them into a circular shape before I adhered them down to the album cover.  I used Baker's Twine for the string and used a glue dot to hold it in place on the back and put a 1/2" circle over that.  I used the sentiment stamp from Field flowers to make the charm on the end of the twine.  I also sponged the twine and charm with Early Espresso and added a little bit of bling to the charm.

I used the Big Shot die BillBoard to make the letters in my title.   I punched the edges of a rectangle with the Scallop Border punch to make the spine of my book.  I used the cardboard insert  from a 12 x 12 pack of DSP for my covers and the whole thing is made using the new DSP Spice Cake (which I am nutso about!!).

See how small it is!  The quarter will give you some reference.

I am really happy with the way it is turning out so far!  I am working on the inside now and will be back tomorrow to show you more!

Hope that you have a wonderful day!

  1. What an adorable little album! I love the white pen detail on the letters, what a great idea.
