Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!

Well, hello there!  So, they are calling for between 6"-15" of snow here tomorrow!!  Yikes!!  Are you a snow person?  I love the snow as long as all of my people are safe at home while it's doing it's thing! I love the way the air looks and feels while it is falling.  I love the stillness and serenity of it while it is whispering it's way to the ground.  I love the fact that every single snowflake is it's own unique, beautiful little creation!  I also love the way it makes the world look and feel clean and fresh and new (not to mention that it looks like a giant plate of whipped cream!).  However, with all of that being said...I love it for about 27 hours and then I am ready for it to simply melt away! LOL

Since there is a mound of the white, fluffy stuff on it's way I was feeling inspired to make a snowman themed home decor piece today and I couldn't wait to share with you! Take a look:

My little project measures 4 x 6 and is a shadow box.

This is what the main image looked like before I tucked it into the frame.  My base is Pool Party and I ran it through the Sparkle Textured Embossing Folder to give it the appearance of falling snow.  That sweet snow guy is from the Spirited Snowman stamp set and he is just so happy and cute that I can barely stand it!  I stamped him and fussy cut him out.  I added him to the picture with a double stack of dimensionals, because I wanted him to look like he was really enjoying his day in the snow!  I added a strip of torn Whisper White card stock to the bottom edge and then added all of the fun little die cuts.

This is the shadowbox frame that I started out with!  It measures 5 x 7, but the inner image is 4 x 6.  It is about 1 1/2" deep.  I originally thought I would tuck a battery powered tea light candle in there for a lovely warm, flicker-y glow, but it was just a smidge too big and it would not close! (Sad!)

After I finished my image panel I added some silver glitter!  I happen to looooooove glitter!  I understand that I am in the minority and that most people cannot stand the thought of it, but I am a big fan!!

I decorated my tree with some red and clear basic rhinestones.  I adhered the second strip of snow right the the glass and called it done!!

Here is a view from the top.

I cannot wait to add this to my Christmas decor!

Here is a list of all of the goodies I used today to make my little home decor project.  I used a retired framelit set for my snowflakes, but you can substitute any you may have.  I purchased my little frame at our local Dollar Store.

Ok, I am on a mission to get the rest of my Christmas decor out and up today!  Wish me luck!!

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow!  I have lots more to share with you!
