Pineapple pine cones!!

Hello there!  Are you having a nice weekend?!  I sure hope so!  I sat down to make a card today and must admit I was feeling a little silly!  I had no idea what I was going to make, but decided I wanted it to be a think outside of the box kind of creation!  I looked around at everything I had sitting on my craft desk (I am a chronic don't put it away-er until the piles are falling over kind of crafter!!) and grabbed a Christmas set!  Now Christmas card Sunday isn't until tomorrow, but I decided I wanted to challenge myself to use this set to make a non Christmas card card!  So, I set to work playing with different ideas!  After a few additions to the circular file (read trash can!) this is what I came up with:

This is my cute pineapple pine cone card!!  It was actually inspired by the adorable Tufted Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder (I dare you to say that 3 time real fast!)  I was just sitting staring at it and thought it resembled pineapple skin!  Then I remembered the cute pine cone Christmas stamp set and wondered if I could talk those pine cones into being pineapples and sure enough...!!  Pineapples are all the rage right now!  They are on everything!!  I love it!!

I started by embossing my base layer; which happens to be Pineapple Punch (see today's card just screams pineapples!!).  I created my pineapples by stamping just the tips of the pine stem. I used a postage note to mask off the bottom half of my paper keeping it ink free.  After I stamped the leaves I removed the post it which left only the tops of the leaves stamped.  Then I stamped the pineapple/pine cone base in Daffodil Delight and then stamped the bumps on top using Soft Suede.  This technique is called 2 step stamping.  I added a few leaves from the Leaf punch in Old Olive and added a few gold accent dots.

Here is the stamp set I used to create my card.  See the fun pine cones...look again...see them as pineapples now!!  Wooohooo!

Here is a complete list of everything I used today:

If you have any questions, or just want to chat zip me an email and we can dish!  I will be back soonest with lots more to share!  Have a wonderful day!
