Thinking of you!

Hello!  Thursday already!  My goodness!  This week is just zooming by!!  I have the last of the cards that I made for my mom to show to you today!  These are Thinking of You cards. I happen to think that these are the most special kind of card you can send!   Everyone likes to know that someone is thinking nice thoughts about them!

I used the Simply Scored tool to create a simple border on this card!  The flowers are the new 1  1/4" Scallop Circle punch!  (I think this little guy is so adorable!!)  I added a quick sentiment, stamped some subtle tiny hearts in the background to absorb some of the empty space and topped the  whole thing off with butterflies! :)

This card uses the Floral Frames Framlet dies.  I embossed the background with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.  The sentiment is from Curly Cute and this one has a butterfly flitting around too!

When is the last time you made and sent a card to to let someone know you are thinking of them?  Today is probably a good day to do just that! :)

Hope you have a great day!

More Happy Birthday!

Hi there!  I have a few more Happy Birthday Cards to share with you today! These use one of my favorite techniques called reverse masking!  I used a similar design, but different colors and it amazes me how different changing the colors makes the card  feel!  Take a look:

I used the Just Believe stamp set for the main image and sponged the setting sun on!  To do this I punched a circle out of card stack and used it as my stencil.  I  placed it where I wanted my sun and sponged inside of it with  More Mustard.  Such a simple trick, with a WOW look!  Browns and creams here.

Blue background changes the whole feel of the card.  This one has a more masculine feel to it!  I used the same reverse masking technique, but switched up the colors.

Fun, fun, fun technique!  Try it out!

I hope that you are having a good week!  I will be back soonest with more cards to share!  Have a great day!

Twisted Tuesday!

Twisted Tuesday time!  Today's fun challenge is called Cooling Off!  Autumn is in the air and with that comes the wonderful relief of Summer...the cooling off!  Our challenge was to interpret that however we liked and run with it!  The twist is that there must be some inked edges!  Here is what I came up with:

This card just screams August to me!  I used the fun new Woodgrain Embossing Folder to make the background.  I used my Big Shot and the beautiful new Autumn Accents die to cut out the gorgeous leaves.  I cut them from the new Champagne colored glimmer paper (I am in love!!) and stacked them.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and the trees are from Lovely As A Tree. Two of my favorite sets of all time!

This challenge made me feel happy and  excited about the arrival of Autumn.  It is my very favorite season and it is right around the corner! Cool crisp air,  smell of apple cider in the air, big ole' plump happy pumpkins!

Ok, what are you waiting for?!  Grab your Fall feeling goodies and make a creation!  Head on over to the Twisted Tuesday site and  check out the challenge!  Also, be sure to check out the creations made by the amazing design team!  They are all quite talented! :)  See you over there!

Happy biiiiirthdaaaaay to you!

Hello!  New week and lots to do!  How are ya?!  Busy, healthy and happy I hope!  I have a few cards to share with you today.  These are a few more of the cards I made for my mom (Hi mom!)  They are birthday cards because well you can never have too many of those big guys laying around!  Take a look:

Check out that adorable bike riding polar bear!! Is he not the cutest thing?  My mom lives where it gets coooold, so even though he is retired I thought he would be perfect for this card!  He is from the set Tagtastic and is stamped in Midnight Muse.  The DSP is from the Summer Smootches collection and the flower is the Blossom punch.

Card #2 uses the schnazzy new Chevron Embossing Folder as the background. That Happy birthday is from the Curly Cute set.

I  included this picture not to show you that fun Chevron folder up close (although it is pretty nifty!), but to show you my very nosy ca'ts big ole head! LOL  That is her kitty snoot in the top right corner!  She was very interested in this card for some reason!  She knocked it over three times before I could finally get it's picture! LOL

Anyhow, those are a few of the cards I have been working on!  I have several more to show you and will be back soonest with them! :)

Hope that you have a wonderful day!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Happy middle of the week day!  Recently one of my very favorite people in the whole wide world (Hiya Mom!!) asked me if I could make a couple of cards for her!  Of course! :)  She asked for a variety of cards so I decided to start with the Thank you ones!  I feel strongly that one should always be thankful for things!  I pulled out lots of supplies and went to work!  Here is what I came up with:

Thank you in Crumb Cake!

Thank you in Pretty in Pink.

Thank you in Baja Breeze.

I used the new Finishing Touch Edgelits for the bottom.  I made three score lines using my Simply Scored and ran a strip of border from the Ribbon Lace border punch above that. The stamp sets are Mixed Bunch and Lovely and Lacey.  The leaves are from the Little Leaves Sizzlet.  I finished off the card with a rhinestone center for the flower.  Easy peasy!

Do yourself a favor and think about something you are thankful for today!  You will be glad that you did! :)

Have a wonderful day! Be back soonest with more to share!

Snow fun!

Hello!  Hope are you enjoying your weekend? I finally carved out a little bit of time to sit and make a scrap book page today!  Woo Hooo!   I am really pretty behind with my scrapping and would love nothing more than a full weekend of un-interupted time to just sit and scrap away!!  Wouldn't that be fun!  Oh well!  I will take a page here and there over none at all! :)  My page uses a fun title from my very wonderful friend Pam!  She sent it to me and I dug through some old photos and was able to mash all of this together. Take a look:

I used Stampin Up! Crumb Cake as my background and stamped the tiny little snowflake from Every Little Bit all over it.  I added a drop of the new Silver Dazzling Diamonds (Scoooore...love that stuff!) in the center of each snowflake.  I tore some Whisper White card stock to make my snow and cut out the cute little pine trees using the new Holiday Framelits.

The snowflakes are from a retired SU punch and the blue centers are rhinestones that I colored.  The sentiment is from the stamp set Snow Much Fun.

I added lots of 3d snow!  Fun, fun, fun!  Made me want to build a snowman of my very own and then take it's picture and then scrapbook it...of course!

Scrap booking is just so much fun!!  I am working on a few other pages and will be back soonest to share those with you as well!

Hope you enjoy the weekend!

Twisted Tuesday!

Hello Tuesday!  Time to get twisted once again!  Today's challenge is called Feeling Blue?!  You are to make a card or creation using all blues and the twist is to use only one other color! Not quite as easy as it sounds, but I went for it and this is what I came up with:

I used Midnight Muse, Baja Breeze, Comfort Cafe DSP  which is all blue and my 'other' color was Whisper White!  My ribbon is Not Quite Navy.

View from another angle.

Close up of the flutterbies in all their shades of blue!

This was a fun card to make!  Hope that you will play along!  Head on over to Twisted Tuesdays and link up your blue creations!  Look forward to seeing what you come up with! :)

Also, be sure to check out the other design team members cards.  As usual...they are amazing!

Versatility of a stamp set!

Hello!  How's Wednesday treating you?!  Ok, so I have been doing some thinking about some of the reasons that stamping is so appealing to me.  It has become an outlet for me; a kind of therapy really!  Creating something pretty from raw materials is very rewarding to me!  It has become a stress reliever and goodness knows life can throw stress at you with both hands!  It is an avenue for socialization! I have met some of the most wonderful and amazing people through and because of stamping.  All the way around it is win win! :)  One of the reasons I am so over the moon about Stampin Up! is because they offer their stamps in sets.  In my opinion that makes the set much more versatile.  For example take a look at this set:

Here are a couple of things I made with it:

Using the cupcake liner and icing (yum!) stamps I made a few cupcakes!  I used the coordinating punch to punch them out.  I added sprinkles with the dotted stamp and used the heart stamp and candle stamp to dress up the center cupcake.

Side view.  I used the Heart Embossing folder for the bottom of the card and added some bling to dress the whole thing up!

Next I made a matching tag keeping with the theme:
I used the Bitty Banners to cut out the Happy Birthday sentiment.

Next I switched up the theme a little, but still using stamps from the same set I made this little gift basket:

It is a simple basket made from a 5" x 5" square using the scallop lace border punch to make the handle.

I also used it around the top edges to make the basket a wee bit taller.  I used crochet trim to make the bow and topped it off with one of the new Dahlias.

Close up of the bow.

View from the back.  This basket is covered with the flower stamp from the same cupcake stamps set!  I used markers to color it so the leaves would be green and the flowers purple.

Last card completely switches themes and colors, but is still from the same set:

The clouds are made from the cupcake icing and the basket is made from the cupcake liner!  How cute is that?!  the actual balloon was made using 1 1/2" circles.  I scored each down the center and then glued them back to back.  The sentiment is from the same set too!

Better view of the hot air balloon! :0)

See!  Lots of options from one set!  Makes me feel like I am getting much more for my money! Who doesn't love that?!

Ok, I have a full day ahead of me so it is time to tackle my To Do list!  Have a wonderful day! I will be back soonest with more to share!
