Another swap card!

Hello, hello!  I have another swap card to share with you today.  This time  the swap called for a black, white and red card using the spotlight technique.  Ever heard of it? It is a way to draw attention to or 'spotlight' a piece of your card. It is a fun technique.  Take a look at what I came up with:

Red, white and black......check!  Spotlight technique........check!  I used the stamp set Very Vintage for the images and the sentiment.  I kept the card simple because I wanted the technique part to stand out.  Red, white and black is a striking color combo all on it's own, but the spotlight part adds a little something extra.

I used the Layering Circles Framelit dies for the spotlight part.  You achieve this look by stamping your bottom layer in one color and stamping a second image in a different color.  You cut the second image out in the shape of your choice (I went with circles) and then match it up on top of the original image.

Close up view of the spotlight.  Isn't that bee gorgeous?  He is also from the Very Vintage set.

Here is a list of all of the goodies that I used to create my card today:

Have any fun weekend plans?   Enjoy it, whatever you decide to do! I am off to run some errands!  Happy Friday!

Welcome little one!

Hey there!  Ok, so I am the first one to admit it.....I am completely eaten up with our new grandkid!!  He is just so adorable!  His parents keep sending us pictures and giving us updates and I just cannot get enough!  His sweet mommy asked me if I would make a banner for the nursery and I jumped at the chance! I pulled out lots of supplies and got to work!  Here is what I came up with:

This is the whole banner assembled!  I used a hodge podge of current and retired products from my stash to create this, so I won't be sharing a product list today. I did want to share the project with you though!

I spelled out the little guys name and added a few fun things to each letter!

Every little guy needs to see the stars up above him when he's drifting off to sleep!

Zoo animals for the win!

That sweet kangaroo has a koala in her pocket!!  I think that stamp is just adorable!

More stars...dream big little one!

Sweet puppies!

I think this one might be my favorite!

I put one of these on either end of the banner.

Side view!

Here it is one more time!  I absolutely loved creating this for our new little addition!

Want to see why I am so smitten?!  Just take a look at this sweet cutie:

Need I say any more?!

Thank you for stopping by!  I look forward to seeing you again!

Swap card and the happiest of news!

Well, hey there!!  So sorry to have gone missing!  I decided to take a fews days off to celebrate some exciting news!  One week ago today our amazing grand kiddo #3 made his way safely into the world!  He weighed 6 lbs 15.9 oz and is absolutely beautiful!!  When I first got the news 3 grandkids ago that I was going to be a Grams I was a little nervous.  I had raised 4 amazing kids at this point and wasn't sure how I would handle the role of Grams!  Grand baby #1 came along and it was over...I was a puddle!  She wrapped me around her teeny little finger immediately.  She is smart and gorgeous and so much fun to be around!!  Then came baby #2 and and he was totally awesome and equally as wonderful!! He is so cute and smart and sweet that I can barely stand it!  We have been waiting anxiously to meet the new little guy and he has already filled my heart with so much love!  I cannot wait to really get to know him too!! Ah the feels...!

Ok, on to my card for today!  I am participating in a fun swap called a circle journal swap.  It requires that you make an album large enough to accomodate 10 cards and then you choose a theme.  The album then cycles through everyone on your list (10 peeps in this case) until it comes back to you filled up!  Pretty exciting stuff! 10 albums all making their rounds and they come back with lots of new ideas! Here is one of the cards that I created for one of the albums:

The theme was flowers and or butterflies!  I did both!  My card base is Melon Mambo and my layers are Very Vanilla and Pineapple Punch.  There isn't a happier color than this one by the way......anywhere!  The very detailed embossing and that large butterfly make quite a vivid impact, so I kept the rest of the card simple!

I added a few silver glimmer dots using a standard hole punch, stamped that sweet sentiment from Eastern Beauty and called it done!  It is a bright, happy card and I really hope that the recipient likes it as much as I enjoyed making it for her!

Grateful heart!

Hello there! Nutty day here! (I feel like I have been saying that a lot lately! LOL) I have been on the go a lot recently!! No complaints though. I am usually happiest when I am busy. It took me 4 trips poking into my stamp room for a few minutes here and there today to get my card finished, but I managed and wanted to share it here with you!

I wanted to do a fun fold today, so my card opens in the middle outward.  My card base is Cherry Cobbler and my layers are Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and Crushed Curry.

I stamped the background panels with the tiny little leaf stamp from Lovely As a Tree in lovely Fall colors. I added the sentiment on circles from the Layering Circles Framelits and tucked in a beautiful copper leaf from the Detailed Leaves Framelits. I added some grungy splatters in Soft Suede using a stamp from Timeless Textures.

Here is the card open. Lots of room to write your message! This is a fun fold and makes for an interesting card!
