Good thoughts and the cutest lil' Easter bunny ever!

Hello there!  Sorry to have gone missing, but I have had busy coming out of my ears!  This whole week has practically been a blur....swoosh!!  I have soooooo much to blather to you about today!!  Grab a cup (a big one would probably be best!) of your favorite liquid and settle in!  Ok, the first thing I want to discuss is the Stampin' Up! Retirement list (dun, dun, duuuuunnnnnnn!!!).  It is out.  I laughed, I cried, I uttered an obscenity or two.  I finally consoled myself with the knowledge that they would be offering me lots of fun new goodies to drool over though in no time flat!  Things have already started to sell out!!  So if there is  something that you really want you might want to hop on over to my online store and grab it while it is still available!

Here is a link to my store------------> Store (where you can browse everything in your pjs and fuzzy slippers!)

***You can also access the most current up-to-date retirement list for stamps and accessories from the above link!

Ok, now for the eye candy part of the post!  I did manage to make a little card today!  It was a quick, simple one, but I thought it came out kinda cute!!  Want to see?!

See...simple, cute and  happy!

I added Dazzling Diamonds to the centers of all of the flowers for a little added sparkle and centered the wordy bits between a polka-dotted frame.  I just loooooove polka dots!!

Details:
Stamps: Happy Watercolor and Perfect Pennants
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Very Vanilla
Ink: Tempting Turquoise and Summer Starfruit
Punches and Dies: None
Extras: Dazzling Details

I have more!  You didn't actually think I would write a whole blog post without including a picture or two of our grand pumpkin did you?    Here are a couple of shots of the cutest lil Easter bunny ever!!!

Love, love, love that sweet face!!!

Ok, the last thing on my to-blabber-all-about-it-to-you list is that I am going to the Stampin' Up! new catalog movie premiere this weekend!!!  *thud!! falls over!!*  So stinkin' excited!!!  There will be swapping and meeting and greeting and prizes and fun and popcorn (my weakness!).  So, as you guessed it...I must run!  Need to do some prepping for the weekend!

Hope that you have a wonderful day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

Peek-a-boo bunny!

Hello there!  I have another shadow box card and that tutorial that I promised to share today!  I figured since Easter is just around the corner I should make a bunny project or two!  So, here is a peek-a-boo shadow box card:

Did I mention that I just love these fun little cards?  They are so cute and are different than your standard flat, fold in the middle card, but sure to bring as much happiness!  You can peek right into this one and in this case this one peeks right back out at you! LOL

View from the top!  I added some grass cut with the super cool fringe scissors and a carrot made from the Pennant punch and 2 Step bird punch.  A few flowers are growing inside my card courtesy of the Petite Petals punch and the sentiment is from Eggstraspectacular.

Ok, I promised a tutorial and here it is:
You want to cut two pieces of card stock at 3 1/2" x  5 1/2".

Then score both pieces at 1/2", 1", 4 1/2" and 5".

Using the 2 1/2" Circle punch you want to punch out a circle by putting the paper in as far as it will go and then centering it between the two sides.  Or basically, center it in the middle!  You are only going to punch one of your card stocks.

Now fold both card stocks on the fold lines like this.  Once you have done that you can decorate both pieces however you like and then adhere them together by gluing on the ends only.  There you have it!!  Easy peasy!!  Would love to see what you come up with so be sure to leave me a comment with a link to yours!!

Ok, I am going to try to put my stamp room back together!  It looks like a tornado may have whipped through there!  I guess I am kind of a messy crafter!  LOL  Hope you have a wonderful day!

I will be back soonest with more to share!

Shadow box card and a dang sweater!

Hello!  Mother Nature sure is a prankster!!  It is cold here today!  Darn cold too!!  What the heck is up with this weather?!  Has Spring sprung?!  Sheesh!!  LOL    I made a very Spring feeling card today anyhow!  This is one of my very favorite kinds of cards to make!!  In fact, I may even use this as my swap for the upcoming Stampin Up! Movie (New Catalog!) Premiere coming up soon, soon, soon!  Shhhhh!  Don't tell anyone though because I like to keep my swap a secret until reveal time! :)  Here is my Spring (please hurry back!!!!) card:

Isn't this just the cutest thing?!  It stands by itself!  It is 3D and it also folds flat for mailing!

View from the top.

I stamped my sentiment on the inside and then added some bright, happy butterflies (blinged out for a little bit of Spring fashion)!

I added Petite Petals and a big ole Pansy to the front with some leaves from the 2 step Bird punch.

You can fold the little sides in to flatten and mail or....

lay it completely flat to mail!  Either way it is just a really fun card! (to make and receive!)

The details:
Stamps: Happy Watercolor
Paper: Very Vanilla, Primrose Petal, Garden Green and Primrose Petal DSP
Ink: Early Espresso and Primrose Petals
Punches and Dies: Petite Petals, 2 Step Bird, 2 1/2" Circle, Small Butterfly and Beautiful Wings Sizzlet
Extras: Pearls and Rhinestones

I will be back tomorrow with a tutorial to show you how to make one of these little cuties!  Until then...stay warm and have a great day! :)

Much love!

Wedding bells!

Hello there!  I am meeting with my demo group today and we are doing a shower card swap! We are supposed to pick a shower event and make cards to go along with it!  Since I have a wedding in my future (my daughter is planning to tie the knot!!) I went with that theme!  Here is the card I made for our swap:

I went with a Blushing  Bride (made perfect sense!), Very Vanilla and Soft Suede color combo.  I used one of my very favorite framelit sets Dress Up to make this sweet wedding dress! The stamp sets are Language of Love and Perfect Couple.

I embossed the edge with the Decorative Designs EF and punched out my sentiment with the Word Window and Modern Label punches. I also added pleats on the dress with Smoky Slate and an Aqua Painter!

I figured working on these would be good practice for our upcoming excitement!  Boy was I right!  Now I am more excited than ever! :)

I have to scoot now, but want to wish you a wonderful happy day!

I will be back soonest with more to share!

You & I

Hello!  How are you today?!  Doing well, I hope!  I am sorry to have been gone for so long, but my To Do lists have practically tackled me to the ground the last few days!  There is so much going on right now and I have been hopping from one thing to the next!  I did manage to sit down long enough to make a card today though and wanted to share it with you!

It didn't photogragh as nicely as I hoped it would!  It is real cute in person!

I went with white on white and sponged everything lightly with Smoky Slate.  I added some Blushing Bride to my flower centers and then lightly stamped some background polka dots in Blushing Bride.  All the flowers got a rhinestone and the sentiment got one too!

Here is a close up of some of the flowers.  This is really a very soft, happy color combo!

Ok, well I am out the door in just a few minutes, but wanted to wish you a happy wonderful day first! I will be back soonest with more to share!

Pretty Spring day!

Hello!  Is it beautiful out where you are today?  It is so pretty here.  Makes me want to plant flowers and make lots of color grow everywhere!  In the meantime though I made a bright, cheerful, flowery card!

I made this to send to my grandma.  She loves flowers so I thought I would send a little bit of sunshine and spring cheer to her mailbox to brighten her day!

I used the Wildflower Meadow stamp and inked it up in green.  I wanted the card to pop with color, so I added lots of different flowers and details.  I framed the flowers with matching colors.  The butterfly is punched with the same color of ink as the sentiment.

I added little pops of Dazzling Diamonds all over the place for a little dash of sparkle!  Final touch was to add some pearls to the butterfly and the sentiment.  It just feels fun and happy to me!  Ready to go onto the mail!

I hate to post and run, but I have oodles of things that need doing today.  I hope your day is full of sunshine and sparkle too!  I will be back soonest with more to share.

Happy birthday!

Hello! How are things? I have a bazillion things to do today, but I wanted to stop by and share the card I made this morning. I did some negative image shading and some stamping and some punching!  It is just a simple card with a simple sentiment, but I am pretty pleased with how it turned out!

I used the Window Frames Collection Framelits to cut out the dark green window and then used the negative part as my template for the shading.  I taped it down over a piece of Very Vanilla and sponged the insides creating the same shape as the window cutout.

I stamped the words from French Foliage (retired....sniff, sniff!) and then the beautiful flowers from Bordering on Romance on top.  I cut the whole thing out using the next larger size in the bunch and layered the larger one on top of the smaller one.  I was hoping to go for a kind of shadow look.

I stamped the sentiment and then used the Decorative Label punch to get this cute shape.  I punched it out once and stuck it back into the punch moving it all the way to the top and punched it again!  I added a tiny bit of Dazzling Diamonds to the flowers for just a touch of sparkle.  I wanted to keep it slightly understated so it could be used for a man or a woman.

Since my To Do list is longer than I am tall today, I better get to it!  I hope that you take some time today to do something a little fun for yourself!  Weather is nice, life is short and today only happens once so make it a good one!

Much love!  I will be back soonest with more to share!
