Spring is in the air!

Morning!  It is beautiful outside today!  The day has a nice warm spring feel to it, so I broke out some spring colors for my card today. I love butterflies so I added a whole mess, flock, herd, gaggle (??what does one call a group of butterflies, anyone know??!) to my card.

My base layer is crumb cake, the next layer is So Saffron and the top layer is Whisper White. I ran the white through the Stripes Big Shot Embossing folder and sponge dauber-ed a little Baja Breeze to sky it up!  I added a So Saffron double stacked stamped and punched flower layer.  The stamp set is Mixed Bunch and I used More Mustard ink.  I added Dazzling Details to the petals and the flower center.  The butterflies are cut from the Sizzex Embosslets die Beautiful Wings and the leaves are from Sweetest Stem. The tiny strip is Bashful Blue and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

The butterflies are cut from Bashful Blue, Blushing Bride and Only Orange. I love this embosslits die!  It makes such sweet little butterflies.

Close up of the flower.  I stacked pop dots to give it all that lift.  I think the layers make the flower look more realistic!

Thought I should mention that you can get the Stripes embossing folder absolutely free during Stampin Ups! Sale-A-Bration.  It is still going on for another week if you are interested!  Just send me an email if you have any questions!

Step outside for a little while today and soak up some vitamin D!  Have a great day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

  2. Such a pretty spring card! Your glittery flower is beautiful and I love the sponged 'sky' on the background. Our class just finished learning about butterflies, but I have to admit I did not know what to call a group. After searching online, I still am not sure. They were referred to as a tribe, but I think that is a species reference and not necessarily the name for lots of butterflies. Call them what you want, either way they are beautiful on your card!!
