Explosion Box!!!

Well hello there! :)  I have been so excited to share the project we made at my last class with you!!  I thought these would be a really fun project to do and boy was I ever right!!  The sweet girls at my class loved it!!  Yay!!!  Take a look at what we made:

This is the box all closed up!

Looks like your everyday standard (although kinda pretty!) ;) box, right?!

We used the Fun Flowers Big Shot die to make our lid flower!  We crinkled and crumpled and sponged the edges to grunge it up a bit!  Of course every beautiful flower should have it's own butterfly! :)

So, then when you lift the lid.........

....all of this sproings out at you!!!  It has SEVEN layers of surprise in there!

Three large layers on the very bottom that all separate to hold lots of photos or souvenirs etc, a layer of four pockets with tags and then three small layers on top!!

We made another flower for the center and added another butterfly on a strip of window sheet material so it looks like he is fluttering above the flower.  Fun stuff!!!!

Here is a picture with the lid.

This is one of the four pockets and its tag!  This also shows the three small layers on top!

You could fill this box with photos or other memorabilia!  Lots and lots of possibilities for this!

Have you tried one of these yet? They are so much fun!!  Click here for a really good You Tube video showing you how to make the basic box. You can add layers to it by repeating the same  same steps with smaller pages.

I will definitely be making more of these!

Well, I have lots to do today so I better scoot!  Hope you have a wonderful day!  I will be back soonest with more to share! :)

  2. Love the explosion box that you. posted. I was wondering how your inner levels seem to be sitting at an angle as I can't figure out how they fold down if they are at an angle.
    Thanks for sharing

  4. Eileen, I made a second set of layers, but made them small enough to fit into the first set turned at an angle. You just have to be sure they do not overlap the score/fold lines and then it will open and close quite nicely! Feel free to e mail me if you need further clarification. :)
