Friday Mash Up Challenge!

Hello!  I played along with  last week's butterfly Challenge over at the Friday Mash Up and had the best time so I thought I would play along again this week!  The challenge was awesome!  It was a combination of a color challenge (which was Cajun Craze, Marina Mist and Crumb Cake) and a sketch challenge which was this:

This is a retired Stampin Up! set from 2005 called  Garden Collage Elegant and this is the first time I have inked it up!  I absolutely LOVE it!!

Puppy love!

Hello! :)  We are back at home today after a four hour drive through some pretty nasty weather.  Our kids soccer game was canceled again so we were able to leave our son's house and head back home earlier than planned.  In case you are new to my blog, we spend half the week in one place with our oldest son and then travel home on the weekends!  A nutty life, but one that works for us!  We take some of our animals with us when we go and leave the others at home.  My mom-in-law looks after them while we are away.  When we get back each weekend and our animals reunite it is always like a little party!  They really miss each other!  It makes me really sad to split them up each week, but my son has dogs and lives in a small townhouse and it just wouldn't be practical to take them all!  (We have quite a few fur-babies!)  Anyhow, when we got home I went straight to my craft supplies and made this funny little dog!  I have very few of my supplies here because have I taken most of them up north.  So, I was challenged to make him with my very few punches.  I haven't  done anything with him yet, but wanted to show him to you!  Here is my little punch doggie:

Wise Old Owl!

Hello!  I have the cutest little wise guy to share with you today!  I found him on Kay Sha's blog here originally and fell in love with him!  I went on a search for graduation themed ideas because two of my kids will be graduating this May and I needed some fun ideas!  We home school and have a graduation/prom every year for all of our graduates with our home school group.  I found him and thought he would be just perfect!  I added some things to my little wise guy and changed some of the punches used.  Here he is:

Isn't he just adorable?!  I added feet and a tassel/brad.  I also used the Extra Large Label punch for the face instead of the Tab punch and the Curly Label punch instead of the Designer Label punch for the cap.

Side view!  The base of that triangle will hold 1 Hershey's Nugget perfectly! :)

5 Petal Flowers and a scrap challenge!

Hello everyone! :)  Happy Thursday...the sun is shinning bright and the birds have been tweeting away all day here!  Such a nice change from the cold and wet days we have had all week.  The pretty weather inspired me to drag out one of my favorite flower punches and punch away.  I also pulled out my giant scrap bag full of bits and pieces and challenged myself to use only scraps to make my cards.  So with the exception of the card bases everything else here is a leftover:

Card #1

I used the Scallop border punch, the 5 Petal punch and the 3/4" Circle punch.

Stamp set: Curly Cues

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Blushing Bride and Daisy Daffodil

Bloomers!

Hey there!  Is it Wednesday already?  Time seems to be just slipping by. I didn't do any stamping yesterday or today, but I do have something a little different to share with you.  It is a project I have been working on for 21 years!  Yep, you read that right!  21 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child my mom-in-law and I started a project together!  We were both big cross stitcher's then  and we use to spend a lot of time together doing just that!  My mom-in-law is a really wonderful person and maybe that is part of the reason that this project is so special to me...we both made one!  Now granted, she was more diligent than I was because her's has been finished for quite some time and I just finished mine...yesterday! LOL  The neat thing about this project is that I can look at bits and pieces of it and reflect on so many different times in my life!  When I worked on 'this' part I was doing...and I when I worked on this part I was...! Trip down memory lane. :)  Here is the cross stitch picture I have been working on for 21 years:

Ok!  So it still needs to be washed and ironed, but I just couldn't wait to scream it to the world that I am finally finished with my bloomer's picture!!!  :)

Flowers, flowers, flowers!

Hey there!  Hope your week is off to a good start!  The weather here is absolutely beautiful!  That makes for a happy me! :)  In fact, I  have a card to share with you today that says happy, happy, happy!  How can you go wrong with bright, smiling flowers? So tell me, what do you think:

I love flowers!  I wish I could grow them!  I have tried but seriously lack that green thumb of a flower grow-er!  Seems the only thing I can grow successfully is kids! :)   No complaints here though! I think I will send this little flower garden to my Grandma!  She is 93 and loves flowers too!

Just Believe!

Happy Saturday!  Ever have one of those days that starts out with a complete plan and then gets completely derailed?!  I am having one of those days today!  I haven't done even one thing I planned to! Our soccer game was canceled...grrrr!   (Planned my whole weekend around that game!) Last week we stood in freezing rain and hail for over an hour and today the sun is shinning?!!  Oh well! :)   I even threw my project plan out the window today and wound up making something completely different!  :)  I had a completely different idea for a project today, but wound up making this instead:

I am going to frame it!  I do not have a frame yet, but am thinking that it needs a worn, old weathered looking frame!  I used the Spotlighting Technique to add some color to the Grey image.  I ran the spotlighted pieces through the Square EF using the Big Shot. Stamp set is Just Believe.  

Wasn't what I had in mind today, but I like it! :)

My day has not been bad (despite my whining!)! Hubby took me out for a very nice breakfast this morning at a wonderful little coffee shop down town and then being the good guy that he is bought me dessert...for breakfast!  Yep, I married a keeper! :)

Also, wanted to share a picture of one of my grand-babies with you!  This is Ellie:

She is pure trouble!  The pictures are both fuzzy because she is incapable of being still! LOL  Isn't she adorable?!

Simply blue and a little pink!

Happy Friday!  It has been rainy and grey all day here today.  I like rainy days though! They usually make me want to curl up under the covers and laze the day away, but I have been busy all day!  I did manage to squeeze in a few minutes to make a card though.  It is a simple card, simple colors and a simple design.  I even left it sentiment free!  I took the picture late in the day though so the colors look a little darker than they really are in the picture.  Here is my rainy day card:

Milk Carton Bunny!

Hello! :)  I have the cutest little bunny milk carton to share with you today!  Do you own the Stampin Up! mini milk carton Big Shot die?  It is so adorable!!  When they say mini...boy do they mean it! I cut one out and stamped it and added a tiny little bunny to the front (and back of course!).  I was so tickled with the way it came out!  In hindsight I think I should have inked up all of my edges to make things pop a bit more, but he is so cute I don't care!  Look:

And of course every bunny has a bunny bottom! Giggles!

This would make a cute little treat holder for Easter!  It would probably hold 4-5 kisses or other miscellaneous pieces of chocolate good-ness!

Here are the punches I used for the bunny:

Ears: Build-A-Flower pieces

Face: 1 3/8" Circle

Eyes: Circle from 3 pack mini punches and small circle from Crop-o-Dile

Nose: Small Heart from 3 Heart punch

Cheeks: 3/4" Circle punch

Paws: 3/4" Circle punch

Body: Large Oval (front and back)

Tail: Flower from 3 pack mini punches

Whiskers: 3 thinly cut strips

To make the eyes I took a piece of Whisper White and punched out the small circle with the Crop-O-Dile and then punched them out using the 1/2" punch.  Then I punched out two Basic Black 1/2" circles and layered the white ones on top of the black ones (rather than try to punch out and glue those little bitty black pupil pieces!
