This was the finished project. I started with 6" x 6" white canvas boards.
I painted the edges a spring green color.
Like so!
I stamped the background with En Francais and Gorgeous Grunge splatters. Then I stamped that gorgeous Swallowtail stamp twice. Once on the actual project and once on another piece of matching paper. I cut the second one out and covered it with Dazzling Diamonds. I adhered it down by the body only and bent the wings some to add dimension.
I added a friend banner and 7 Petite Petal flowers. I made the flower by punching out 14 of them and balling them up and peeling them apart. I glued 4 layers of flowers together to make one and added colorful Spring flower centers. Three of them got a rhinestone and 1 got a tied piece of jute twine. I left three of them plain. I was really going for mixed media type of project when I started out.
I also ruffled up and sponged the edges of each one to give it kind of a grungy look. I made a couple in each color! Pink is my very favorite color though so I was kind of partial to that one! :)
Here is the blue one.
Different angle.
The green one.
The purple one.
And the yellow one! Each one got matching monochromatic flowers, but they all got the same bright Spring colored centers! These big guys really shimmer in person because they are covered in Dazzling Diamonds!
This was such a fun project to do!
