Old is new again!

Hello there!  Monday, Monday...start of a new week!  Hope that you are off to a happy productive start!  I have plans to get lots accomplished this week!  Thought I would start off by sharing a card I made for my demonstrator meeting swap this month.  The swap theme was "Something Retiring!"  We were supposed to pick something from the current catalog that is on the retirement list that we were going to hate to see go and make a card using that.  I chose a set that I am really, really, really (REALLY!!!) sad to see go.  Here is the card that I made:

I made a 4 x 4 card using almost all retiring products.  Some of my favorites!  The pink paper, the stamps, the EF and the punches are all going...sigh!

I two stepped stamped, embossed the side, roughed up the edges and then grunged them up by sponging them. I stamped the sentiment on a banner and then did the same to it.  It is resting on dimensionals.

So, then while I was making this card I started thinking about how easy it would be to make a very similar one using all new product.  This is practically the same card, but with the new goodies making their grand debut in just a little over a week!!!!!!

Same size, colors are close and the layout is identical!  This one uses the new heart punch (part of a new Itty Bitty Accessories pack!) and new stamps from one of the beautiful new hostess sets!!  (Every single new hostess set is swoon worthy!!!)

I am sad to see these well loved products going away, but am equally excited to start playing with all of the fun. new goodies!!

I think it is going to be an exciting Stampin' Up! year!!  I am pretty darn stoked about it!!

Ok, well I have some other things to tend to today so I am off!!  Hope you are having a fabulous Monday! I will be back soonest with more to share!

  1. Cute cards. I really like the colors and how you roughed up the edges of the white card stock.

  2. Love both of these! This is such a great way to show how to recreate the same style with similar products!
