Hello, hello! Hope you are doing well today! Count down is on.........only 13 days left until Christmas and the craftiness is in full swing around here! In fact, I have a fun Christmas project to share with you right now! I was browsing the craft aisle at a nearby store recently and found a Styrofoam wreath shape and decided I needed to add it to my "needs to be altered pile!" I wasn't sure at the time what it would grow up to be, but last night it found it's voice, so to speak! Take a look:
I had the best time making this little guy!! I started by cutting 1 1/2" x 8 1/2" strips of Garden Green Card stock. I wrapped them around my wreath form and glued them together where they met. I have seen a couple like this floating around on Pinterest and thought they were genius!! Once they were in place I cut a banner shape into the end of each one.
This is what the form looked like before I dressed it up! It measures 12".
I made the three flowers using the Blossom Builder punch. I punched out all of the petals and crunched them up. I then glued them onto circle scraps forming each layer. I layered one small and two large layers and then floofed (technical term!) them up by doing a little more crunching. The large layer on the bottom took 7 large petals, the middle layer took 6 large petals and the smallest layer on top took 6 small petals.
I made my snowmen by punching out different sized circles. I glued them together and added the buttons and eyes from scraps and a standard hole punch. I hand cut the little carrot noses. The scarves are also hand cut and made from scraps. The arms are stamped from the Colorful Season stamp set. They are the branch stamp! I fussy cut them and glued them in place.
I cut out the deer from the Detailed Deer Framelits and added him to a couple of circles from the Layering Circle Framelits. His bow is from the Beautiful Bouquet Framelits set. He is just so regal looking!
I hand cut the banner pieces and ran them through the Swirls and Curls Dynamic Textured Embossing folder. I cut the letters out using the Large Letter Framelits and tied it together with some scrap chunky twine I had laying around! (It's amazing the things we manage to collect as crafters!)
Here it is doing it's thing!! Really. Fun. Project!!
