Craft-y with wood!

Hey there!  Today almost got away from me, but I wanted to be sure to stop by and say hello!  Sadly, I didn't get to spend any time at my craft table, but we were pretty productive outside on the addition!  I really wish there were about 10 more hours in the day!  Just think of everything we could get accomplished then! Thought I would share some pictures of our progress:

We are working on the second story walls right now!

First wall section.

View from the second story.

Construction of the second wall section.

Opposite wall.

View from the top!

Other wall!

Both side walls are up!

This is the view from our house!  Makes all this work so well worth it!

Hope that you had a great day!  I will be back soonest with some craft-y goodness to share!

ABC Challenge day!

Hi there!  Monday, Monday...back to it! :)  Today is ABC Challenge day and the challenge for this week is to make a SIP card!  STAMPS-INK-PAPER.........and that is it!!  No fancy, schmancy add on thingies!  Just the old school  basics!!  Be warned!!  It is not as easy as it sounds!  I had to practically sit on my own hands to keep from adding! LOL  Seeeeee:

Stamps, ink and paper and that is all!  I challenged myself even further with this one by asking my   sweet son to randomly grab a stamp set for me to use!  He chose Flower Shop (scooooore!) and then I chose Yippee-Skippee! to finish it off!

This card feels happy to me and I looooove happy so I wound up  being pleased with it!  Simple can be a beautiful thing!

The details:
Stamps: Flower Shop and Yippee-Skippee!
Paper: Daffodil Delight
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede

Are you a Paper Pumpkin member?

Hello!  Stopping by to say hello and visit with you for a few minutes!  We have had a full day working outside on the addition!!  They were calling for rain, but it held off all day and I couldn't be more thrilled!  We only got one wall up all day long, but it was probably the hardest wall we will have to do!!  Pretty dang excited about it!!  Then we ended the day by loading up all the cars and going to dinner with all the kids and then home for ice cream!!  Doesn't get much better than that!!

Since I am here I wanted to take a minute to ask if you were a Paper Pumpkin member yet?!  It is Stampin' Ups! new monthly craft kit program!  Once a month you get a fun box in the mail with everything you need in it to create something wonderful!  Here is a link if you would like to check it out or you can just click this picture:

I  sponged the edges of the flower to grunge-y it up a little bit too!

The details:
Stamps: Six-Sided Sampler
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Gray, So Saffron and Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink: Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede
Punches and Dies: Blossom and Pansy punches
Extras: Rhinestones and Dimensionals

I am off to lunch with a friend!  Hope you have a great Friday!

P.S. Oooooh!! Guess what?!!  I found my planner!  All is right in my world again! LOL

Thinking of you!

Hello!  I have a card to share with you today.. I have never met the person that I will be mailing it to, but am happy to be sending it. Sometimes in the stamping community people will reach out and ask their stamping peers for support and virtual strength in the form of a hand made card.  I read a request this morning from a fellow-ette stamper for just this sort of thing.  She has a family member that is going through a difficult time and is hoping that an outpouring of cards will help to brighten spirits and offer some support.  I made a request very similar to this a while ago when I needed to gather and offer support to a loved one and I was amazed at all of the love that arrived in my mailbox!  I feel compelled to share that with others in need. So I am happy to send this card:

Hope that you have a good day!  I will be back soonest with  more to share.

Bordered Sentiment

Hello!  Happy Wednesday! :) How are you today?!  Hope all is well with you!  I am in a bit of a tizzy today.........I have lost my planner!  YIKES!  So NOT good!  That thing keeps me together and without it I am kind of a big, blobby mess!!  Things in my life are utter chaos right now.  All four of my children are living at home again (2 moved back recently!) plus my sweet daughter-in-law-to-be and their 2 dogs. They are expecting our first grand pumpkin in a matter of weeks!! (11)   Hubby and I have moved out of our room giving it up to my oldest son and we are building an addition onto the house.  It won't quit raining so that we can finish and the entire contents of my old bedroom are piled high in my craft space!  My oldest daughter's things are in piles all over the rest of the house as she shares a room with my youngest daughter and things are just a big ole' mess! LOL  Now if you follow me regularly you know about all of this madness, if you are new though (welcome!) this is what is going on in my little piece of the world right now!   However, despite the madness and the chaos and the mess I am actually quite happy to have all my peeps back in my space!  The mess will eventually right itself, but the time with my family is so valuable and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the whole world!  The only thing that could make me happier would be  if I found my planner!!  Has anyone seen it?! LOL

Ok, well I am pretty certain that you didn't stop by to listen to me ramble and if you did you deserve chocolate! ;) , so on to the eye candy!  I saw the coolest tutorial on SplitCoast this morning!  Now I didn't realize how cool it was until I read through and then tried it!  Look at this:

This is only a two layer card!  That sentiment is not a layer!!  It is actually part of the top piece of card stock!
See....cooler than it looked originally, huh!

You draw your lines, stamp your sentiment, do some masking and then stamp your image above and then below!  It is really pretty in person!

The details:
Stamps: Gifts of Kindness and Kindness Matters
Paper: Chocolate Chip and Pistachio Pudding
Ink: Basic Black Marker, Garden Green and Melon Mambo
Punches and Dies: None
Extras: Rhinestones

Here is a link to the tutorial if you want to make one!  I say try it!!

Ok, I am off to find that missing planner!  Wish me luck!!  Have a great day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

You're my cup of tea!

Hello there!  Hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start!  We are working outside on our addition today, but I wanted to stop by and share a card that I made this morning with you.  I just got a beautiful new set called Tea Party and could not wait to ink it all up!  Every single stamp in the set is just beautiful!  I went with my favorite stamp from the set for this card:

Isn't that just the prettiest stamp?!!  I just love it!!

Here is a side view.  I dry embossed the green layer and the DSP is  from Season of Style!  It is a Christmas pack of paper, but look how versatile!! Love, love, love it!  I am kind of a nutball for all things polka dot though so this was a favorite of mine right away!  (There is also a beautiful green polka dot pattern in there too!)

The details:
Stamps: Tea Party
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz and Season of Style DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip

Extras: Dimensionals

Have you gotten your craft on today?!  I recommend that you spend a piece of your day being creative!  It is soooo good for you!!

These are the stairs, but I guess that is pretty obvious! LOL

They turn and are in an "L" shape.  We carried every piece of that sub floor up these and had to turn at that "L"!

Bottom floor from the outside

Other side.

This is my very handsome hubby hanging out on the top doing house build-y things!

The view from up here. :)

Sooooo pretty! Makes all the hard work so worth it!

Well, that is about where we are!   We will start the walls for the second story tomorrow and then the roof trusses are soon to follow!  I am so excited I could just pee!!!!

Ok, time to get the weekend started!  Hope yours is a great one!  I will be back soonest with more to share!
