ABC Challenge!

Good Monday morning to you!!  New day to a new week opens up all sorts of possibilities for great things to happen! :)  Hope your week is off to a great start!  I have a card to share with you today that I made for today's  ABC challenge.  This was such a fun challenge and I hope you will play along too!  The challenge was to include stitching on your card.  It could be actual machine stitching or faux stitching or embossed stitching or.......guess you get the idea!  Here is my stitch-y card:

I went with faux stitching and a lot of it! LOL  I stitched up the sides and across the bottom.  I stitched in the middle and around the edges.  I even stitched the tiny little banner in place! All the stitching made me think of quilting so I decided to make the whole thing look like a big ole quilt!  I embossed a couple of the layers with the Square Lattice EF and then used a zig zag stitch and a straight stitch.

I really like the faux stitching technique.  I find it relaxing to poke all of those tiny little holes.   I added Dazzling Details to the flower to give it just a little bit of shimmer.

This was really a fun card to make!

Details:
Stamps: Oh, Hello!
Paper: Garden Green, Pretty In Pink and Very Vanilla
Ink: Old Olive, Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo
Punches and Dies: Hearts A Flutter framelits, 1" Circle punch Square Lattice EF
Extras: Dazzling Details and Ribbon (retired)

Be sure to come on over to the ABC Challenge blog and see all of the great cards the DT made! Lots of stitching happening over there!

Have a wonderful day!  I will be back soonest with more to share! :)

  4. I really love the colors and look of this card. To make the faux stitching, did you use paper piercing tool and an ink pen?

  10. Um...GORGEOUS! This reminds me of the old time stitch samplers that were framed and hung as artwork! The embossing really adds so much to your fantastic faux stitching!
