Just roll with it...or not

Well hello there!  Guess what?!  It snowed...again!  The weather folks said less than an inch of accumulated sleet last night and we woke up to almost 4 inches of snow and it is still coming down!  Just take a look at this madness:

Guess all we can do is just roll with it! LOL  Speaking of which...! Let's talk about things that roll.  (See what I did there?!) :)  Stampin' Up! makes the coolest stamps...on wheels!!  They come on a roller wheel and you roll them along your ink pad and then your paper to get a continuous roll of an image.  I love them except for one little thing!  I am roller lame!! Yep, I have tried and tried and tried and despite my very best efforts I just cannot roll with them so rather than not use them I just take them off their wheel bases and mount them on easy mount cling foam and treat them like a long stamp!!  See:

So easy to do!  You find the seam and very carefully slice it with a craft knife.  Then you gently peel it off the wheel and add it to the sticky side of your cling mount foam.  Cut it away from the rest of the foam at the edge of the stamp and now you have a flat (no rolling required stamp!)  Whoot!

Looks like this.

Here is an example of something you can do with your now extra long stamp.  You can stamp a piece of card stack to make your own Designer Paper.  You can use it just like that or punch some fun shapes from it.

Here is a card I made using my new long stamp (which is called Gingham by the way!) I stamped the whole background of my card and also used the punched images from above.

I happen to really love the Gingham pattern, but you can do this with any of your roller wheel stamps.

I added a piece of Whisper White card stock to break up the background some and added the punched flowers to that with Dimensionals.  They each got a bright contrast-y (technical term!) center and a pretty rhinestone jewel.  The fun little banner is from Perfect Pennants and the heart is punched from silver glimmer paper and colored!!!!  How neat is that?!!  You can color it any color you can imagine!!!  More on that another day.

Here is another card I made using less Gingham.  This one got one stamp instead of a whole background full of them. I added the punched image from above on with a dimensional and added the oh so sweet sentiment from the Sale-A-Bration set See Ya Later.  I got that big guy free!!

I embossed the top half of the card with polka dots which to me = happiness and then I added some rhinestones to further prove my point of happy and called it done! Quick, easy and fun card!
