Real life!

Hello there! How is it going with you? *Warning!!  Feeling a bit word-y today!  You may want to grab a cuppa or even bring your breakfast! ;) I have spent the last several days cleaning my stamp room.  If you are new to my blog allow me to give you a little background  info.  About 8 months ago my oldest son, his sweetie and their baby to be moved in with us.  Hubby and I gave them our bedroom so that once the baby was born they would have some privacy.  Doing that though meant moving all of our stuff somewhere.  At the time our only real available space was my stamping room.  Although I would do it all over again in a fast minute, it has been a bit chaotic! LOL  So, add to that an addition that we have also spent the last many months building onto the house to accommodate everyone (my oldest daughter moved home about the same time!)  into the mix and it escalated from chaos to extreme chaos!  We have been nailing and sawing and working and are to the point now that I am able to move some stuff around a bit and make use of my stamp space again. So short story very long (big cheesy grin!)  I have been cleaning my stamp room for the last several days and getting it back into working order!  My oldest daughter has since moved out and my oldest son is making possible preparations to do the same and all of that is just life...real life! :)  I am the luckiest mom in the whole wide world to have such an awesome family though and I have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy every minute with my peeps.  All that being said  (would you like me to freshen your drink or make you a waffle?!) I have a neat little project to share with you today!  While cleaning my room I was making like piles of stuff to sort and organize and put away.  I made a mile high pile of my Paper Pumpkin boxes and kits.  I started going through all of them and decided to compile them into a smaller pile.  In doing so I thought to myself that it would be fun to make one project using pieces from all the kits so I got busy!  One of my very favorite kits was the Real Life mini album kit.  I played around with it a bit and added some extra goodies and am really excited to share the beginnings of this project with you:

I punched out the letters and added them to the front.  I covered the negative (from the punched out letters) with that pretty, pretty DSP from the Sale-A-Bration flyer and then I added all kids of things!  The arrow stamp below the letters is from a My Paper Pumpkin kit and so are the long stickers, the round sticker and several of the banners.  I also added lots of punches, some bling and did some sponging around the edges.

To get the two-toned letters I simply sponged the top half with Calypso Coral and the bottom half with Gumball Green.  I wanted to mimic the colors in the paper.

I added a little Tombow adhesive before I stuck the stickers down because I wanted to be sure they were going to hold.  I added the bottom banner with dimensionals so I could give it a wavy appearance. Also, outlined my heart to give it a little more interest.

I covered the back cover with paper and added the fun bag that came in the kit.  Going to decorate it more once I decide what photos to use on it!  I kept all of the inner pages bare so I could add my photos first, but plan to embellish the heck outta this big guy after I get pictures in!

I also covered the back with more paper from the Sweet Sorbet collection.  There are four dividers so I plan to use one section for each of my kids (and their sweeties!) and then will add some pictures of hubby and I in before the front divider.  I added extra pages to each section so I would have lots of room for pictures and journaling.  I just love mini albums!!

Here it is from the back!  There are so many cute stamps that have come with the Paper Pumpkin kits that I plan to incorporate into this album!  I am really enjoying the PP kits!

If you are interested in receiving a monthly kit you can go-------> HERE to sign up!  Super easy and super fun!

Ok, since I still have several piles of stuff to deal with in my stamp room I better get to it!  I hope you have a wonderful day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!
