ABC Challenge!

Good Monday morning to you! :)  Time for the weekly ABC Challenge!  The challenge for this week is to make a card using markers to color your image.  This turned out to be a big challenge for me and brought it to my attention that I do not usually color my images!  It was  fun to do something a little different  though. Here is my card for this week's challenge:

I used an image from the Gently Falling stamp set.  It is a 2 step stamp set and normally I would get my color from the solid image half of the 2 step stamp process, but today I stamped just the outline image and colored it in with my markers.  I used a More Mustard marker, which sadly has retired. It is the perfect fall color though,  so I threw caution to the wind and just went for it.  :)

After I  colored it in I went back over the edges and stems of the leaf trying to create some shadow and depth of color. I wanted it to look like a leaf in mid color change mode!  I have decided to take our challenge this week a step farther and try to incorporate more marker coloring into my projects...because it is just plain ole fun!  LOL

The Details:
Stamps: Gently Falling and Six Sided Sampler
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip and More Mustard
Punches and Dies: Modern Label punch
Extras: Mini brads

Be sure to head on over to the ABC Challenge blog and check out all the great cards!  I hope that you have a great Labor Day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

  1. I can't believe how you're still cranking out the cards while you're building an addition on your house and I mean that literally - you're building it! Cute card as usual.

  2. Your leaf looks fantastic and I love how you used the modern label as accent tabs. Very pretty!
