Happy House!

Hello there!  Are you watching the eclipse? What an exciting thing?!  We are popping outside every few minutes to see the changes! It is really pretty cool!! Here are our cute little eclipse watching glasses:

Fun stuff!!

Ok, on to the real reason you stopped by!  (Since I am fairly certain it isn't for my charming wit and funny jokes!)  LOL  I have spent most of the morning playing with paper.  I have such a fun job!  Creating things is very rewarding to me.  Also, very messy!  I am such a messy crafter!   Want to see the project I made today?

I wanted to play with the At Home with You stamp set and Framelits sets.  I have seen so many great cards made with this set, but decided I wanted to try something a little different!

So, I made a 3-D box!!

Here is is from the side!

And the really fun part is that the roof is a lid and lifts right off!!

Now no box is worth anything if it doesn't have appropriate goodies in it...so this little guy is sized to hold a Godiva candy bar!

I scored the whole thing at every half inch to make it look like siding. (Can't really see it in the picture.)  I stamped and cut out the door, welcome mat flowers and wreath and colored them all using markers and an aqua painter (on the door).

I started with a piece of Crumb Cake 8.5" x 9".

I scored it at .5", 4 1/4",  4 3/4", and 8.5"

Then I flipped it sideways and scored at .5".

I cut small "v" 's out where the score lines intersect to create space for the box bottom to fold up without bulging. I added sticky strip to the small tabs and one of the large tabs on the bottom  and along the large tab on the side and then folded up and assembled the box.

To make the roof I cut a strip 1" x 11" and scored it at 3 1/8", 3 3/4", 7 5/8" and 8 1/8".  I wanted it to be snug enough to stay on, but loose enough to slide on and off the box top easily.  I adhered the ends together.

To make the roof front and back I used the largest scalloped square from the Layering Squares Framelits and cut it in half diagonally.  I cut a strip of card stock measuring 1 3/4" x 6". Scored it at 1/2" from both sides (leaving 3/4" in the center) and turned it and scored it at 3" on the short side.  I cut tabs at those two intersections and semi folded it into a triangle shape and glued the half squares onto the front and back.

Here is the finished house one more time:

Here are the things I used to build my little treat holder box:

There you have it!  You can click on any of those pictures to go straight to my on line store and buy them!  While you are there be sure to check out the Clearance items!  Stampin' Up! has just added a ton of new things!

Ok, I need to run!  I have decided my life needs more exercise in it and if I don't get to that soon it's not going to happen! LOL  Hope that you have a wonderful day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!
