Hello there! I hope that your day yesterday was filled with very much wonderful! Wonderful people, wonderful food, and wonderful memories! We had a very nice day! I missed with my whole heart the people that couldn't be there with us though. We are planning another Thanksgiving get together this coming weekend and I am really excited about that one too! Have I mentioned that I just really, really love Thanksgiving! I made a fun Thanksgiving sampler for the occasion and wanted to share it with you:
It is an 8 x 10 Sampler. My base layer is Soft Suede and my other layers are Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla.
I took this one without the glass to cut down on the glare. (And am now kicking myself a bit for not doing the same with the following pictures! Ah well! Live and learn!) These colors just whisper Fall to me! I tried to pull lots of Fall feeling elements into it!
I started with the letters! I used the Large Letters Framelits and cut them out twice; once in Crushed Curry and once in Cherry Cobbler. I layered them on top of one another just slightly misaligned to give them a 3D look. I then ran them through the Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder to give them even more visual interest.
I cut out 2 leaves from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits (crunched and uncrunched them!), embossed the top half of my Vanilla, stamped my image and added the copper strip.
This may be my favorite all time ever Thinlit! I just looooove this simple, sweet leaf!! It looks quite fancy cut out in the Copper foil sheets too!
A little stampin', a little coloring with some Blends and a bit of added shadow for some depth.
I 2-step stamped and fussy cut the acorns for this panel. Very simple! Added some accent dots to balance the whole thing out.
I stamped and punched out 3 daisies for this flower. I layered them and added a couple of stamped and punched leaves. The center is a copper 1/2" circle punch. I tried to sprinkle the copper accents throughout the whole sampler.
I really enjoy making samplers!! It is like creating several mini works of art! If you need any of the goodies I used you can find them here below. Click any picture!
Whether you are shopping or still Thanksgiving-ing or just sleeping off your turkey coma from yesterday I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend! I will be back soonest with more to share!
