Hiya! How is your day going? Very well, I hope! So, I was doing an informal inventory of my stamps this morning and I have managed to collect a very nice pile of Christmas stamps and goodies for lots of fun projects to be, but I am just not quite ready to start my Christmas creating yet! Anyone else feeling the same? I am really kind of itching to start playing with the themed stuff though...dilemma!! What is a girl to do?! I will show you!!
I made a thankful for you card using the Christmas Bulb Builder punch!!
This is an example of what it was created to make!! Lots of beautiful, bright, twinkly lights! I went a different direction with it though!
I used it to make flowers! In this case it is a Fall thankful for you flower!! I absolutely love getting multiple uses from a product. Can you see how I did it?
Here is a side view of this fun flower! I used Very Vanilla as my card base and my layers are Crushed Curry and Soft Suede. I ran my background piece and my flower center through the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. I tucked in a few leaves stamped with the leaf stamp from Painted Harvest and the sentiment is stamped on an Every Day Label punch that I trimmed down. The sentiment is also from Painted Harvest.
Here is a close up of the flower.
Since I was making fun flowers I thought I would shake things up and make one in Melon Mambo! I added this one to the front of a 3 x 3 card base. I repeated the steps from the larger card right down to adding the Gold Glimmer accent dots. I used a standard hole pinch for those.
Side view.
Would you like some additional info on making these oh so cute flowers? Here you go:
I started by punching out 16 light bulbs, 1 1" circle and 2 3/4" circles (one will be your flower center so choose that color based on your preference.
Next I stamped each light bulb using the dangling stars stamp. I highlighted it above ^^^.
Here they are all stamped.
This part is a teeny bit painful, but I got over it (and you will too!)! Crunch those little guys up good!
Gently open them back up and using your bone folder smooth them out and curl the pointed end up a little bit. This gives your flower petals some texture and shape; making them look more realistic.
Grab your 1" circle and using glue dots start layering the light bulbs around the outer edge of your circle. I used 7 on my yellow flower and 8 on my pink one. The more you use the fuller your flower will look.
Continue on until your flower base is complete.
Repeat using your 3/4" circle. This will leave you with 2 flowers; one being slightly larger.
Using Stampin' dimensionals layer the smaller one on top.
Will look like this!
Add it to your project and tuck in some leaves of your choice. This flower uses 13 light bulbs or petals.
This one is fuller with 16 petals. Have fun!! Cannot wait to see what you come up with!! I would love to see your flower creations!
Here are all of the goodies that I used today to create my projects:
I absolutely love what I do! I get paid to create pretty things and share them with you! I am working on building a whole team of like minded peeps that would like to do the same! If you would like to see what all the fun hoopla is about or just want to dive right in, consider joining me on my adventure and being a part of my team! Send me an email or read all about it for yourself here:
Hope you have a great day! I will see you tomorrow!
