Thinking of you.

Hello friends.  Hope you are doing well today.  I am having a bit of a down day today.  I went walking this morning and spotted the first signs that Fall is on it's way.  There was a sprig of brightly colored red, orange and yellow leaves just hanging out in one of the trees.  Fall is my very favorite season, but with it comes subtle feelings of melancholy.  Maybe it is because things are winding down from the Summer or maybe it's because I know that following the burst of beautiful color that takes over everything there will be winter bleakness. Although I do enjoy some things about Winter,  the sad empty trees and lack of color are enough to bring anyone down.   In addition to all this I find that I am just really, really missing my Mom.  Not a day goes by that I do not think about her and wish with everything in me that I could just call her or send her a quick email note.  There are so many things that I need to share with her and I would give just about anything to hear her voice or her laugh or just to be able to have one more chat with her.  My card today was inspired by my wonderful Mom.  I sure am missing you and I love you!

Can you just feel Fall looking at this card?  I layered Daisies and Fall leaves and threw in some golden leaves for a little bit of sparkle.  I embossed the background with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing Folder and the little strip of So Saffron on the bottom with the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder.

I sponged around the edges using Soft Suede and added little hole punched dots of gold.  I used the Metallic Enamel Shapes on the flower centers for a bit of extra shine.  The grungy feel of the card mixed with the sparkly newness is kind of like the yin and yang of life!

To color my leaves I used markers from the Regals collections.  I mixed the colors on the stamp and then stamped the splatter from the Daisy Delight set on top of them.  It made for a pretty crisp Fall looking array of color.

Can't really see it in the photo, but I covered the daisy petals with Wink of Stella. It adds a nice shimmer in the light.  I used the same stamp (stamped off once in Soft Suede) on the background of the card to fill in some of the empty space.

Ok, Fall...I think I am ready!  Bring it!  Here are the products I used on today's card:

I hope you have a nice day!  As always, thank you again for stopping by.    I will be back soonest with more to share.
