Fall basket

Well, hello there!  Hoping that your weekend is off to a great start!  I started mine off with coffee with the hubs and then straight to my stamp room...win, win!  I have pulled out an oldie, but a goodie for my project today!  I needed a treat holder and this is one of my very favorite go to's.  It goes together very quickly, but lets you get all jiggy with your creativity. LOL  Want to see?

Isn't that the cutest little thing?!  I made a medium sized one, but you can make them much bigger or even smaller!  I used an 8" x 8" piece of card stock to make this one.  You can use any size you'd like, but the trick is that your starting piece needs to be a square.

To give you an idea of the size this one makes I made a 3" x 3" card to give away with it.  Here they are together. Don't be fooled though...this little guy can hold lots of chocolate or candy goodness for the giving!  You can really pack it  in there and it is a pretty solid design with the folds, so it will hold up to maximum treat stuffing!   Stuff away my friend!

View from the top.

The 3" x 3" card that makes it a complete set.  I love this size card.  Perfect amount of space to write your greeting and just so darn cute.

Stamped the elegant flower from Painted Harvest using So Saffron, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede.  I added some gold metallic enamel dots and popped it up using a dimensional.  The leaves are also stamped using Painted Harvest and then punched using the new Leaf Punch.  All of these new goodies are in the new holiday catalog.

Here is the little guy full of the good stuff.  I tied the whole thing closed with Daffodil Delight double stitched ribbon (sooo pretty!!).

This side matches the card and has a tiny little hello greeting.

I am loving these pumpkins from the Gourd Goodness set.  I used Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie to two step stamp them.  They look so shimmery and real.  Fun stuff!!

The leaf is also from the Gourd Goodness set.

I sponged the edges of all of the Very Vanilla pieces to give the whole project that kind of a grungy Fall feel.

Fall leaf love.

I fussy cut the flower out and popped it up using dimensional here too.

This image is from the At Home with You stamp set.  I used the Regel collection of Stamp Write markers to color it in.

Here is the project before I folded it all up to make the basket.

1) To make this I cut my card stock to 8" x 8".

2) I scored at 2 1/2" from one side and then flipped it and scored again at 2 1/2" from the other side.

3) I turned the paper once and repeated step #2. (creating a tic tac toe pattern)

4) I scored a diagonal from each corner into the intersecting score lines. (stop there)

5) Fold on all score lines.  The diagonals get folded inward.

6) Punch a hole in each of the diagonal folds and thread through the ribbon of your choice.

7) Gently pull ribbon and tie basket closed.

8) Decorate, mat and adhere panels to the card base.

For the decorative panels I cut:
* 4   2 1/4" x 2 3/4"
*4   2" x  2 1/2"

I find that it is easier to add the decorative panels before I fold it and tie my ribbon, but be sure to add all of your panels right side up!

Here are all of the goodies I used to make this basket and matching card:
