Fun box in a card card!

Hello there!  I am sorry to have gone missing!  All of this weather madness has shifted my normal schedule around in more ways than one and my time has not been my own.  I did have the pleasure  of spending the last week with my beautiful daughter in law and amazing grand kiddo though; while my son was in Texas offering assistance with his job.  We were also impacted by Irma and her bad attitude since we have been spending a lot of our time in Florida recently.  To say it has been a bit of a nutty couple of weeks is a *HUGE* understatement!!  Here is a pic of my sweet dil and grandbaby and their new pooch!  We had a wonderful visit with them!

Heart = melted!

I do have a fun card to share with you today too!  This is an oldie, but a goodie!  It is a box in a card or a card with a box or a box-y card!  Take a look:

It has a little belly band to keep it all together.  I used the Daisy punch to dress this one up.  I stamped 2 daisies in Old Olive and punched them out using the Daisy punch. I used a Dimensional to separate them and adhered them over the seam of the belly band.  I created the band by laying it under the card and loosely wrapping it around the card.

Close up of the daisy.  I used a 1/2" punch and made a center for the daisy using Gold Glimmer paper.  It adds just the right amount of pop and sparkle!

Belly band slides right off!

Card opens up to reveal a yummy, flat surprise!  This one has a Ghirardelli treat, but you could use a gift card or money too!

I stamped my sentiment using the Eastern Beauty set and added a little strip of paper to the inside that matched the outside. It's a nice way to pull the whole card together.  I did my stamping first and then adhered it to the inside of the card.

Here is a close up of the magic that is the fun fold!

To make this card I started with a piece of card stock that measures 8.5" x 10". (Keep the strip you cut off to make your belly band!)

On the 10" side I scored at 2", 3.5", 6.5", and 8".

(Flip) On the 8" side I scored at 1.5" and 7".

On the 10" side find the 5" measurement and score a diagonal score line from there towards the intersecting score line. Stop where they meet.  Rotate card to opposite side and repeat.  Now flip paper over to back side and repeat creating an upside "v" shaped with your score lines. (See picture below!)

Remove all 4 corners.

Cuts slits to create flaps on the remaining score lines located by the "v" shape.

Crease well with a bone folder on all score lines. Fold the "v" shape in towards the center of your box.

Adhere the flaps to the outside part of the box once the card is folded into a box shape.

Create your belly band using the strip you cut off of your card stock when you started.

The outside panels of Designer paper measure 1 3/4" x 5 1/4". (You need 2.)

The inside piece measures 2 3/4" x 5 1/4".

the small strip of designer paper measures 1" x 2 3/4".

Here is an example of the card before it gets folded up and glued together:

Here are the goodies that I used to create this fun box in a card:

If you have any questions at all please feel free to email or leave me a comment here.  These go together pretty quickly and make a nice little gift for that someone special!

Hope that you have a nice day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!
