Hey there!  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!  I have another card to share today that my daughter and I worked on together.  She did most of this one herself!  I loved seeing how happy she was with the end results!  I am so proud of her!  Take a look at her card:

Didn't she do a great job?! :)

Up close!

She may turn out to be a stamper yet! Ok, I am off to do some weekend-y things!  Have a great day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

Penguin says thank you!

Hello!  I have a fun thank you card to share with you today! Fun because well it is shaped like a teeny tiny  penguin and also fun because my kiddo and I made it together!  She needed a couple of cards for some friends at work and asked me if I would help her.  She is not usually very crafty so it was both a challenge and just down right fun! :) She loves penguins so we both knew right away what direction we wanted to go in! Take a look at what we made:

Isn't he adorable!!  I am so proud of her!  I think she did a great job!  I only helped out a little! ;)

His little beak is open saying thank you!  His inner body is the Big Shot Top Note die.

It was really a lot of fun making this with her!  She made one more that I will share tomorrow!  I have to run!  Lots of To Do's to do today!  Have a great one!  Will be back tomorrow with more to share!

Tiled hello!

Hey there!  Thursday already!  Man oh man is this week ever flying by!!  I have another card to share with you today using a technique that is new to me!  It is a tile technique!  Turned out to be pretty cool and much quicker than the version where you cut apart and re-adhere all of the tiny tiles! That version takes forever!!  Ask me how I know! :)

I think it looks just like a tile mosaic!  I am tickled with this technique!  I used Stampin Ups! Simply scored tool and scored my card stock at every half inch.  Then I flipped it sideways and did it on the other side.  After I scored I stamped my image and then colored it.  Then I took a sponge and went over everything with Chocolate Chip which stayed on the surface, but doesn't make it down into the tiny grooves.  There you have it......tile! :)

Side view.

Up close.
I added Dazzling Details to the flowers which gave them all a nice little shimmer.  Awesome technique.....I say give it a try!

Details:
Stamps: Elements of Style and Easy Events
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke and Pretty In Pink
Paper: Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke and Pink Pirouette
Dies and Punches: 1 1/2" Circle punch
Extras: Rhinestones and Dazzling Details

Off to be productive!  Hope that you have a wonderful day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

Happy birthday!!

Hello!!  Today is a very special day!  Seventeen years ago today my youngest son was born!  He is such an amazing kid and I am so proud of him!  He is sweet and funny and thoughtful and handsome and smart!  He  is such a wonderful person and if I hadn't made it quite clear up to now I am crazy about him! :) Here is a picture of him from several years ago:

And a more recent one:

He does volunteer work and recently was in the newspaper for being volunteer of the week.  Proud mama moment!!

Ok, on to the reason you guys stopped by!  I made his birthday card because well that is what I do!  Take a look:
Hung the banner and made cupcakes!  I wanted to make a grown up card, but just kept leaning towards this bright and happy version!

Hello and happy Twisted Tuesday to you!  Time again for another twist-y challenge card!  The challenge for today is to make a creation for a kiddo and the twist is that it have a funny saying or sentiment!  I looked through *EVERY* stamp I own and none of them seemed to fit this challenge so I created my own sentiment on the computer and printed that big guy out! LOL  You can check out today's challenge over at Twisted Tuesdays here and check out my card right here:

This card uses and old, old, old Stampin Up! set called Kids at Play.  I used all SU! markers and a blender pen for the coloring.  The tiny cupcakes are from Itty Bitty Bits.

Life is a matter of moments!

Hello!  How are you today?  Hope your day is going well!  I have another little 3 x 3 to share with you today!  I have been playing around a bit with these little cards and have decided that I really like them!  It is a tiny canvas but has so many possibilities!  Take a look at today's little 3 x 3:

I tore the edge and stuck the Always Artichoke behind peeking out.  I ran it through the Square lattice EF first and inked the edges with white.   I sponged the Very Vanilla to grunge it up a little.

Details:
Stamps: Elements of Style
Ink: Crumb Cake. Wild Wasabi and White Craft
Paper: Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla
Punches and dies: Square Lattice EF
Extras: Rhinestones

I have oodles to do today, so I better get back to it!  Hope you are having a good day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

In honor of Earth Day!

Hello!  I wanted to make a little something in honor of Earth Day.  So, in keeping with the theme I pulled out some of my very old and way retired stamps sets and thought I would practice the re-use part of the sentiment behind today!  I went with the whole outside nature theme!  I made a stair step card and filled it full of Nature and animals.  Here is my I appreciate the Earth card: (It is rainy and gray out today, so my lightning a bit off!)

It is a fun card that accordions open to display, but lays completely flat to stick in an envelope and mail.  It has three mountain folds and 2 valley folds and look at all the stuff you can stick in there! LOL  My card had a racoon, deer, groundhogs, owls, birds, butterflies, flowers and tress!

Partial side view.

Here is it squashed flat!  This was a really fun card to make!  I really  miss some of these stamps so I enjoyed inking them up again! I am not going to go into details since this card required oodles and oodles of product and lots of it is retired.  Feel free to email me with any questions you might have though!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

Ladybug, ladybug!

Hello!  How is your weekend?! I spent a little time at my craft table this morning working on a fun little card!  Easel cards are all the rage right now, but I have not tried my hand at making one yet.  I decided today was the day!    I wanted it to perform like an easel card, but thought it would be fun if it were a little different than than the standard square or rectangular ones!  Here is my non square or rectangular easel card:

Lady bugs are just sooo cute!  Unless you live on the east coast and they invade your house in the late Spring and early Summer in droves...they are less cute then!  I used the large Circle Big Shot die for her body and the 1 3/4" Circle punch for her head.  Her dots are from the Itty Bitty punch pack circle.

Side view.

Card all opened up.  Another lady bug is waiting on the inside!  The sentiment says Just for you and is from Just Believe.

Close up of the inside little lady!

You can either rest the top against the sentiment or against the little lady on the inside!  Such a fun card to make!

Will keep this brief today as I have a weekend to get to!  Hope yours is wonderful! :)  I will be back soonest with more to share!

Happy birthday!

Hey there!  Today I am paying it forward with my card.  I recently was in a situation where I asked folks to help me out by making/sending some cards for me and now I have the opportunity to do the same for someone else who an extra card or two might brighten a day.  Gladly, I will craft! :)  Birthdays are a fun time and sometimes we take them for granted...even joke about the dread of getting older.  For some folks though every birthday is a gift.  Here is the card I made:
Masculine cards still throw me for a loop!  I always want to add just a little more...something!  I fought the urge here!  No bling, no ribbons, no pearls or buttons!  LOL  I had to keep repeating that to myself.

Side view.  Everything is sponged.  I used my mat pack to make dots, but not holes!  Several layers of toned down colors.

I sponged clouds, but wanted to keep it soft and dreamy looking.  To me this whole image invites day dreaming.  Hot air balloon rides and willow-y clouds!  Happy birds doing their thing!  Wishes for brighter days ahead.
My wish for you is exactly that.

I hope that you have a good day!  I will be back soonest with more to share.

3x3's are just too cute!

Hello!  It is all gray here today and threatening to rain.   I don't mind it though.  I like rainy days!  :)  I have spent part of today catching up on some of my craft to do's and then I spent a little while  playing with 3 x 3 cards!  They are so cute and really are fun to make!  I am toying with joining a 3x3 swap and if I did I would wind up making oodles of them so I wanted to do a couple of test runs before making up my mind! LOL  Here are a few of the ones I threw together today:

These go together very fast and they make the perfect little addition to any gift!  I really enjoy making them!  So, to swap or not to swap, that is the question! :)

I hope you are having a great day whether the sun is shinning on you or not!  I will be back soonest with more to share! :)

Card for a friend!

Hello!  Middle of the week! :)  Are you feeling Wednesday?  I sure am!  I have a card to share today that took me forever to make!  Ever sit down to make a card and no matter what you do it just doesn't turn out the way you envisioned it?!!  You add and take away and re-jig and change the colors and  restamp the sentiment and then toss the whole thing into the circular file and then start over!  I wanted this card to be really special.  I needed it to say more than I would be able to ever pen in on the inside.  After several attempts I think I am mostly happy with this one:

Stamps: Field Flowers and Elementary Elegance (Sale A Bration)
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pretty In Pink and Chocolate Chip
Paper: Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip. Pink Pirouette, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla
Punches and Dies: Daisies #2, 3/4" Circle, Scalloped  Border and Large Label
Extras: Rhinestones, Simply Score Tool, Paper Piercer and mat pack and pop dots

Hope that you are having a good day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!

Twisted Tuesday!!

Merry Tuesday to you!!  Time for another twist-y challenge over at Twisted Tuesdays!!  Today's challenge is called Pink, Green and Red are in my head!  You must use a pink, green and red color combo and the fun twist is that you must also use 3 brads and a ribbon!  I must admit this one threw me for a loop!  The color combo had me a little nervous, but once I got the colors all paired up and glued down it turned out to be just fine!  That would be the beauty of a challenge!!  Here is my Pink, Green and Red are in my head with an added brad x 3 and a ribbon:
All three colors accounted for!  My 3 brads are the flower centers and the ribbon is seam binding.  All from Stampin up!

Raised each of the flowers up on pop dots.

Up close of the flowers!

Details:
Stamps: Just Believe
Ink: Always Artichoke
Paper: Always Artichoke, Real Red and Blushing Bride
Punches and Dies: Itty Bitty Punch Pack
Extras: Gold brads, Seam Binding and Pop dots

Be sure to check out this fun challenge over at Twisted Tuesdays!  Also, take a peek at all of the other cards from the design team and be sure to make one of your own and add it to the site!
