Be thankful!

Hiya!  How are you?  Hope you are doing well!!   Anyone else have a really skewed sense of time when it comes to creating projects?!  Without fail I get it into my head that I am going to sit down and whip up a quick project and three hours later I find I am finally putting the  finishing touches on it! LOL  Today's little project was exactly like that!  Since Thanksgiving is only one week away I thought I would make another Thanksgiving themed project today! I made a fun banner to welcome the holiday in!!  I just love making banners!!  They feel so festive and happy to me!  Want to see what I made today?

My little banner spells out "Be Thankful!" with a piece of pumpkin pie at the beginning, one between the two words and one at the end!  I am thankful for many things in this life and pumpkin pie is definitely one of them! LOL

I used the Cable knit Dynamic Texture embossing folder for the background.  All off the letters are cut from the Large Letters Framelits and that beautiful leaf is stamped from the Vintage Leaves stamp set.

I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits for all of the ovals in the banner.  The leaves are punched using the Leaf punch and that pretty Fall looking paper is from the Painted Autumn DSP.  I tucked a gold circle under the oval to add a little color. It is punched from the 3/4" Circle punch.

I fussy cut the acorns from the same DSP pack and added a Gold Faceted Gem to the side.  The leaves stamped in the background behind each letter are stamped in Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight and are from the Carols of Christmas stamp set.

I added a tied bow from a piece of jute twine and added a few decorative dots from Gold Glimmer paper.

This flower is also fussy cut from the Painted Autumn DSP pack and I tucked another leaf from the Leaf punch in Garden Green behind it to make it look fuller.  I added a strip of Gold Glimmer paper and stamped one of the teeny little detail stamps from Carols of Christmas in the background to fill the empty space.

Another beautiful leaf from the Vintage Leaves stamp set.

These sweet pumpkins are cut from the same DSP paper pack as well.  I added another 3/4" Gold circle behind the letter to keep with the gold color theme and added a few Cherry Cobbler accent dots (punched with a standard hole punch!).

This background is embossed using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Texture embossing folder.

I added the cute pumpkin from the Patterned Pumpkin Thinlit die set here and another Leaf punched from Garden Green.

This one got a tiny little gold banner on top of a strip of DSP from the Painted Harvest DSP pack. Pumpkin is from Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits.

I am all about the exclamation points and I was absolutely tickled to find one in the Large Letters Framelits!!  Doesn't it just look so happy?!

Yum!!!  Are you a fan of pumpkin pie?!!  I sure am!!  To make these little guys I cut out three rectangles. Then I found and marked the center along the bottom of each.  One I had marked the center I cut from my mark to each outside corner giving me a perfect wedge of pie.

To make the crust I cut a strip of Crumb Cake and scored it at every half inch.  I accordion folded it and hot glued it in place.

No piece of pie is complete without a lovely dollop of whipped cream!  To make my whipped cream I punched two circle per piece of pie  and crumpled each one up in my hand.  I rolled it around until I was able to separate the layers of paper.  That left me with four circles.  Laying them fuzzy side up, I punched  a tiny hole and added a brad to attach them.  Then I scrunched each layer up around the brad.  I gently unscrunched the layers until it looked full and like a yummy little cloud of whipped topping.  See below!

Here is that process.  Once they were made I hot glue them to my triangles.  Yay....pumpkin pie slices!!

To make my banner backgrounds I used the large panel from the Mini Treat bag t
Thinlits!  The score line came in handy for adhering the banner pieces to the ribbon, so I kept the  scored flap on.

I folded each piece and added Tear and Tape to both the folded piece and the panel.  I secured the pieces both on top of and behind my ribbon this way.  They seem to be holding great, but if you were concerned you could staple them in place as well.

In the window all banner like!!

One more look before it went up!  This banner was so much fun to make!!  Here is a more detailed list of the things I used to create it!  All of the pictures are clickable and will take you directly to my on line store for purchase!

I encourage you to make a banner of your own!!
