Santa's pants!

Helloooo!  I took a break from card making today to make a fun little 3d project!  I wanted to make a treat holder of some sort.  I have made a couple of these over the years, but added a few different tweaks this time!  I am stock piling gifting goodies for Christmas and thought this little guy would be perfect to hold some candy or other miscellaneous things.  Take a look:

I made Santa's pants!!  In the past when I have made these I didn't add the boots or the mittens, so I thought they would be fun additions!  This box is made from one full sheet of 8.5" x 11" card stock.  I used Cherry Cobbler.  I added a 1" strip of Whisper White around the bottom for his cuffs and did the same with Basic Black around the top for his belt.  I added a a belt buckle with a rectangle of Gold Glimmer paper topped with a smaller Basic Black square.  I gave him the illusion of having 2 legs by adding a tiny strip of black.  I used 2 strips of Cherry Cobbler to add suspenders and gave him gold glimmer snaps to keep them in place!  The mittens are from the Many Mittens Framelits and I ran them both through the Cable knit dynamic embossing folder.  This box will hold quite a lot of candy making it a great little gift!

Thought I would share the deets so you can make some yourself for the holidays!

You want to start with an 8.5" x 11" piece of card stock.  On the 8.5" side score it at 2.5" and 6.5".

Next flip it to the 11" side and score it at 4.5" and 6.5".

Next cut out little 'v' shapes on the score lines as pictured.  This will make your box fold together nicer. Fold your paper on all the score lines and create a box shape.  Sandwich your small tabs between the large side flaps for a neater box.  Glue the whole thing together using the adhesive of your choice.

On to the boots:

Cut a piece of Basic Black 5.5" x 8.5".  On the 5.5" side score (Long ways!) at .5", 2.5", 3" and 5".

On the 8.5" side score (short ways!) at.5", 1", 7.5" and 8".

Cut off all extra tabs (see picture!).

Fold into a box shape and adhere the edge in place to hold it together and then tuck in (and glue) the tabs on the ends.

It should look like this once it is assembled.  If I were making another one I think I would make the boots a little bit taller, but this one works too!

Adhere your pants on to your boots like so. There you have it!  All ready for the gift stuffing!

Here is one more shot of the finished project!

Here is a list of the goodies I used to make my project today:

Ok, it's back to making Christmas cards for me!!  Hope your week is going well!  I will be back soonest with more to share!
