I had so much fun making this! It is a paper shadow box filled with lots of snow themed goodies! Sorry about the lightning! All my natural light seems to be outside hiding behind the clouds! LOL
This is made from a 12 x 12 sheet of card stock. The dividers and handle use about about half of a second sheet. The really fun thing about this projects is that you can add your dividers in any way you would like! You could have three spaces to decorate or six! Up to you! I went with four here!
Here is another angle so you can see the depth of the boxes.
Box #1 sets the mood for the whole project! I used the Letter It stamp set for the letters and all of the silver shimmer bits are left over scraps from other projects! I won't dare throw away even a teeny tiny piece of this beautiful glimmer paper! I used the Itty Bitty punch pack to cut out the shapes. I stamped snowflakes in the background in a darker blue (Midnight Muse) for contrast. The mittens are stamped and punched with the coordinating punch. I tied a little bow from Baker's Twine so one doesn't get lost without the other!
Window #2 (my favorite, but shhhhh! Don't tell the other windows!) has a punch art snow guy! He is made from the 1 1/4" Circle punch and the 1 3/4" Circle punch. His scarf is cut from the Word Window punch and has a 1/2" circle on top to knot it together! I tore snow to add the the ground and jazzed it up with Dazzling Details. The snowflakes are cut from the Northern Flurry (sadly retired!) Big Shot die. The tiny falling snow flakes are hand drawn with a white gel pen.
Best part of playing in the snow is coming in to a big ole' cup of whipped cream topped hot chocolate!! Yum!!
These cute snow guys are from the Snow Much Fun stamp set! I water colored them using an Aqua Painter and a rainbow of colors! Each of the snowflakes behind them has a dab of Silver Dazzling Details in the center and matches their buttons!
I really had fun putting this together! Since I offered details in each section of the post I will refrain from re-listing them, but if you have any questions please feel free to e mail me!

Hope you have a wonderful day! If the snow falls on you...go out and play! :)
I am so impressed that you made your shadow box out of card stock! This is such a cute project. How did you fasten the dividers into the box? I can see this being a very special class offering. Thanks for sharing it.

Wow! I thought this was a wood frame until I read your post!!! Just amazing and I love all the snow themed elements. I hope you don't get too much snow.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your shadow boxes!! I have to say that I really like that punch art snowman too (shhh!) and the banner says it all!
ReplyDeleteOur weather has been so crazy lately. A week ago it was in the low 60's with tornado watches and tomorrow morning we are expecting single digit temps... Come on spring!!
