Christmas card Sunday #1!!

Hello, hello!!  So, what exactly do you do after you un-decorate from Christmas, remove all the twinkle and tinsel, take down all the jolly holly,  and stash all the fa, la, la, laaaaas?!!  You start on your Christmas cards for next Christmas, of course!! That is exactly what I did today!!  I sat down and made 2 cards and plan to do the same every Sunday from now until December so that when the holiday madness sets in I will have one less thing to do!! I did this last year and was sooooo happy to have a giant pile of cards ready to go  come Dec 1!!!  Here are the cards I made to start off my year long project:

My card base is Granny Apple Green and my layers are Whisper White and Soft Suede with silver glimmer accents.  That beautiful deer is from the Dashing Deer stamp set and I embossed the background with the Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder.  I left the bottom portion out of the folder though, so that I would have a flat surface to stamp on.

Once it was embossed I punched out a bazillion little circles using the Bitty Blooms punch pack and adhered one to the center of  each raised polka dot!  I love the fun sparkle it gave each card!!  I will definitely be doing that again!!  I added a poinsettia looking flower using the same punch pack and stamped my sentiment.  The green strip was a scrap I rescued from my scrap pile.

Here is a list of all of the goodies I used to create my cards today:

I am so excited to start this project again this year!!  There are 47 Sundays left until Dec 1!  If I manage to make 2 cards a week until then I will have 94 cards!  Wooooo!!

Ok, I am off to do some house-y type stuff!!  Enjoy your weekend!!  I will be back soonest with more to share!!
