Christmas Envelope mini album *PART 1!*

Hey there!  I have another fun mini album to share with you today!  Well, I have a partial mini album to share with you today!  I made it and started to dress it up, but decided I would share it with you in two parts.  Today's post will show you the bare bones and the "under clothes", so to speak.  I made a Fall mini album the other day and had so much fun with it that I thought I would put together a Christmas one too!  You can find the Fall one here.  It describes exactly how I assembled it if you would like to make one too.  They are so easy to put together and would make super cute gifts!  It would be really fun to make one for each person at your Thanksgiving table and use them as place settings!!  Or you could fill them with pictures and use them as stocking stuffers!!  Here is the beginning of the one I am putting together today:

This one has twice as many pages and twice as many tags as the one I made a few days ago!  I used 4 envelopes instead of two. More details about that down below.  I used Real Red and Granny Apple Green as my page base layers.  I will be adding more to each page for tomorrow's post!  I used the Under the Mistletoe DSP for the cover and that fun bow from the Bring on the Presents stamp set.  If you would like to learn how to make that bow, you can find my tutorial here.

The album measures 4 1/8" x 4 3/4".    The right hand side of each double page spread is Real Red.

The left hand side of each double page spread is Granny Apple Green.  They work really well together and offer that traditional Christmas feel!

Here you can see the front and back and both colors.

The back of the album mirrors the front minus the fun bow!

Hree is a close up of the bow.  I covered it with Wink of Stella!  I wanted the album cover to look like a fancy package just begging to be opened!

Here are the four (naked!) tags with the album.

They will tuck into the open ends of four of the pages and will each hold pictures or mementos on the front and back.  Right now everything is still in the getting ready for the party stages, but tomorrow when you come back the whole thing will be all fancy-fied (technical term!) for the party!

Want some details about the construction of the added pages?

If you go check out the original post you will see that I simply folded and sewed two envelopes together on the fold.  To create this mini I made two of the originals and adhered them together!  Easy peasy!

You can see the two edges here.  I just slathered the front and back pages with glue and stuck those guys together!  I did it this way so that the pages would be even on the ends.  If you stick too many pages one inside of the other they stick out unevenly on the edges.  This keeps the pages uniform.  You could add as many "books" together as you would like this way! Just make sure your seam binding is large enough to cover the sewn edge.

To cover up that unsightly seam I made a seam binding by cutting a scrap of card stock 1 5/8" x  4 1/8" and scored it at 3/4" on one side and flipped it over and scored at 3/4"  on the other side.  This created a channel to hold the width of both sets of pages.

Then using Tear and Stick Tape I added it to the edge.  Doing it this way will allow me to add lots of goodies to my pages and I do looooove a chunky mini album! :)

Here are all of the goodies I used today to get started on this mini album (minus the envelopes!).  You can click on any of the pictures to head straight to my on line store to grab the things you need to  make your own project!

I am so happy that you stopped by!  Would you do me a favor and hit the Follow my Blog button up and over there ^^^^^----------------------------------------->, so I know you are enjoying my blog?  Thanks so much!  I am really grateful!
