Grateful heart!

Hey there!  Are you watching the weather too?!  I am a ball of nervous wreck energy today watching Hurricane Florence and her angry antics!  She is in a bad mood and is making a bee line towards all of my peeps. (UGH!!)  Funny (not so funny!!) story...hubby and I are way down south right now, but all of our peeps are in Virginia.  We just left there recently for the land of where the hurricanes normally gravitate to and now there is one plodding towards where we just left?!  Not cool, Florence!  Not cool at all. I needed to work on something creative this morning to keep my mind busy, so I took out some of my new Fall Holiday catalog goodies and set to work.  Here is what I came up with:

My card base is Crumb Cake and my layers are Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie and Wood Textures DSP.  There is lots going on on my little card today!  I started by stamping leaves from the Colorful Seasons stamp set in all of the appropriate Fall colors and matted it against a strip of that fun wood DSP paper.  I ran 2/3's of my Very Vanilla piece though the warm and cozy looking Cable Knit Embossing folder giving the card the feel of a toasty, warm, sunggly sweater.

Then I tucked all sorts of colorful leaves and twigs under the sentiment.  I added some completely behind it and some in between the layers and then that fun little maple looking leaf on the top!  The sentiment is from the gorgeous new set called Falling for Leaves.

Before I added the top most leaf I crumpled it up a couple of times and then smoothed it out.  I wanted to give it the care-free look of having just made a trip straight from the tallest tree.  After I attached it I painted it with some Copper Shimmer paint and an aqua painter.  You want to talk about shimmer?!  That stuff is beautiful!

Here is a list of all of the goodies that I used today to create my card.  Click on any picture to head straight to my on line store to get what you need to make your Fall projects.

Seriously, if you are in the line of this nasty storm, please be smart and be safe.  Stock up on your supplies and be prepared.  Better to over do it a bit and not need it than to be ill prepared.  Also, please keep my family in your thoughts.

As always, thank you kindly for stopping by!  I do love visiting with you!  Big inky hugs!
