Sitting here...

Hey there!  Ever wasted away an afternoon swinging on a porch swing? There is just something so relaxing and inviting about an old porch swing. I wanted to create a scene with my card today that gave off that feeling of just relaxing and getting lost in your own thoughts.  Life can be so crazy and hectic sometimes and it is always good for you to stop and take inventory of things, so to speak.   Slow down and think about all the good times and things life has offered you!  Hope you get that feeling from my little ole' card today:

I built a house using Crumb Cake and Soft Suede!  I ran them both through the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder turning them from cardstock to wooden planks for a sturdier house!  I added some trim along the edge of the house with a plain strip of Crumb Cake.  I decorated the porch with a Fall colored wreath and put out some lovely Fall swing cushions!  My card base layer is Cajun Craze and my other layers are Crushed Curry and Whisper White.

I stamped the tree from Sheltering tree and then stamped colorful Fall leaves mimicking the colors on the porch.  I added some fallen leaves and a strip of grass all from the same set to help encourage that crisp Fall feeling!

To color my fun wreath and throw pillows I grabbed a handful of Stampin' Blends.  Have you tried those yet? I loooove them!!

Here are the colors I used to get this look.

I didn't want a lot of white space, so I  softened the sky by sponging Pool Party lightly in the background.

I cut one of our large circular sponges into pizza pie shaped wedges and used Pool Party to create an afternoon looking sky.

So, to get the look of the raised (but not embossed!) swing I stamped it once on the Crumb Cake house and then a second time on a sheet of Wood Textures DSP.  I wanted the swing to have an old aged wooden look to it and this paper was perfect!!  I fussy cut the swing and added it on top of the original.  I added the fun cushion and pillows and now it is just begging for a sitting visitor!

This is the sheet I stamped it on and cut it from.  Once I cut it out I used my craft blade to cut out the extra slats between the bench slats.

Here is the finished card one more time:
