Simple joys and some scraps!

Hi there! Middle of the week...already! I needed one more Christmas card for my Christmas in July class, so I challenged myself to use the scraps piled up on my stamp desk this morning.  Do you have piles of scraps?  My piles have piles...so many piles!  I should probably spend a whole day, or week...or month challenging myself to use up some of my scrap piles!  So. Many. Piles!   Ok, on to today's card (compiled of 96% scraps!):

See...so many scraps!  It cleaned up alright and came together pretty well to be a pile of scraps though! :)    The green strips were leftovers from another project, as was the negative image of the deer and the gold circle (other half from another card!).  Only thing I broke into a new pack of paper for was the card base.  Even the Garden Green background was from my scrap pile!  It has a big ole' punch punched out of the middle of it. Recycling scraps for the win!!

Side view!  I used Emerald Envy (one of the pretty In Colors) to stamp my sentiment.  I carried gold across the card by using the Holiday Berry Builder punch for my small circles, the Decorative Ribbon border punch on the side of the Crumb Cake deer negative image cutout and then a half circle from the 1 3/4" Circle punch for the side.  Bump, bump, bump!

This sweet deer makes my heart pitter patter!  The negative image is almost as cute as the actual deer piece.   Note to self...keep the negative pieces!  They make great card images!

Here are the goodies I used to make my card (in case you don't have these particular piles on your stamp desk!):

Today I challenge you to make good use of your scrap piles!!  Let's see what you come up with!  Have a wonderful day!  I will be back soonest with more to share!
