Only 85 days left...

Hello there!  I wanted to stop by and wish you a happy October 1st!!  Do you realize that there are only 85 days left until Christmas?!!  Whuuuuut?!!  *thud...falls over!!*  Ok, ok, I realize that may sound like it is really far away, but if you take card making, gift buying, cookie baking, yule tiding, decoration hanging, tree trimming and card mailing into consideration you may already be a week late!!  There is so much to do!  *giggles!*   Alright, you are right...there may still be lots of time for most of that, but it is actually time to start thinking about card making!  I figure if we start making them now we should have plenty made by card sending time!! Are you with me?!  I started on my first one today!  I will be making a couple every Sunday from now through the season and hope you will do the same right along with me! Would you like to see my first Christmas card?

I went with a classic Christmas color combo.  White, red and silver.  I  2 step stamped the flower pieces from Bunch of Blossoms and then assembled them into this flower.  I embossed the card background with the Basic Polka Dot Embossing Folder and added the silver trimmed ribbon and sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Snowflake Sentiment set and I predict it is going to get lots of use this season!  I added the silver accents using Silver Glimmer paper and a standard hole punch.  I punched the leaves using the Leaf punch from the awesome new Holiday catalog!  (loving that thing!!)

I used my bone folder to bend the flowers petals up slightly to add some dimension to the card. I was going for a Poinsettia type flower.   I think it turned out kind of pretty! :)

I stamped the petals with Basic Black and then went back and added the shading with the more solid stamp and Real red ink.  The center is Crushed Curry paper and ink.

Here are all of the goodies I used to create my first Christmas card of the season:

I do hope you will join me in making a Christmas card or two a week!  I will be back each Sunday to show you my newest cards.  I look forward to seeing you!  Have a great day!

I will be back soonest with more to share!
