Another itty bitty panda book and a tut!

Happy Saturday!! I posted a tiny little 3 x 3 book yesterday and had oodles of requests for some how to info, so I made another fun little book and a tutorial to share with you today!  These little guys are so much fun to make and go together very quickly!  Take a peek see:

Here is my little 3 x 3 panda love book!  Now it's your turn!  Let's get started!

Start with an 8.5" x 11" sheet of card stock (color of your choice!).

You will then need to cut 3 pieces that measure 3"x 6" and then score each at 3"  to make the base of each page section.

From one of the left over pieces you will want to cut a piece that measures 1  1/8" x 3".  I found that the easiest way to score it was to score in 1/2" from either side.

Next cut 8 squares of patterned paper measuring 2 3/4" x 2 3/4".  Most of this gets covered up, but it offers a nice contrasting frame around your your neutral color (next step!).

Now you will need 6 squares measuring 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".  You want this to be a light or neutral color so you can add more stamping, photos, quotes or notes!  This does not include the cover. These are the interior pages only.

Fold everything on the score lines and use a bone folder to get nice crisp edges.

Your little piece will look like this and be the spine of your book.

Using Tear and Stick tape or the adhesive of your choice add it to the backs of *two* of your little folded cards and the sides of your spine piece as pictured.

Adhere the two pieces together with one front side touching the back side of the first piece.

Repeat with the last piece so that all three cards are now adhered together and look like this.

Time to add the spine onto the book!

It should look like this once you have added it.  I found the easiest way to do this was to stand the book up on a flat surface and add the spine around it, so that everything stayed flat and even.

Viola'!  Your book is all ready to be dressed up!

Start by adding all of your patterned paper!

I added my neutral colored card stock next, but if you want to do more stamping or decorating you could do that first and then add them in!

Now it is time to decorate your cover!!

Here is mine!  That sweet panda just melts me into a puddle!!  He is from the Party Panda stamp set and is one of the fun freebies you can earn as a Sale-A-Bration item!  Contact me for details!

Here is a view of the interior pages.  You get 6 of them to decorate and add goodies to!

Now, if you would like to take your little book up a notch you can add some tags as seen below!!

I did this by only adding adhesive to three sides (instead of 4 as pictured above!) of my pages before sticking them together!  That leaves an open pocket to slide tags into!  It adds a little bit more interest to your closed book!

Here are the tags I made to add to my book.  The tag base measures 2 1/4" x 3".  I stamped them with the stamp set from the January Paper Pumpkin kit. Such a cute set!!!

Close up view of the book with the tags in place.

A final look at the book all ready to go!  I hope that you will make one of these fun little books!  Please holler at me if you have any questions!

Here are all of the supplies that I used to make my book today:

You can click on any of the images to go straight to my store and do a little bit of shopping!

I am off to enjoy the weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!  I look forward to our next visit!
