Christmas Card Sunday #1

Hello there!!  Have you managed to catch your breath from the holiday season yet?  We are one week into the new year and I am feeling pretty good about getting through the holidays successfully! I had a wonderful holiday season, but despite all of that I have decided, no resolved, no am insisting upon doing things differently this year!  I love everything about Christmas and it's merry season, except for the rushing around and trying to get everything done at the last minute.  Too much stress around that!  I am planning to get a jump start on a few things this year and my Christmas card making is one of those things!!  I plan to make one (or two or three even!) Christmas cards every Sunday from now through December 2018, so that when it is time,  my cards will be all ready for addressing and mailing! Care to join me?!  I'd love to have you play along!!  Here is my very first card of the year:

I went with the classic stamp set Lovely As a Tree.  I stamped it in Old Olive and then went back and colored the tree trunk in with the Bronze Blends marker.  I stamped a few falling snowflakes to give the card a nice, winter-y feel.

It is hard to see in the photo, but I tore a strip of card stock to use as a template and sponged down towards it to create a couple of inches of snow that have already accumulated!  I used Soft Sky.

I matted it against a piece of Gold Foil, but first I punched several pieces out of the center to use on later projects!  Silly to waste the pieces that get hidden anyhow!  I stuck down a plain strip of Pear Pizzazz to break up all of the red and ran the card base (front only!) through the Simply Stripes Embossing Folder and called it done!  Quick, simple card with a wonderful, cozy winter feeling for the win!!

I went ahead and finished the inside as well.  I added a sentiment from Snowflake Sentiments and a few more gently falling snowflakes from the Hang Your Stocking stamp set.  One down, 49 more to go!  I must admit, it feels pretty great to make a Christmas card without any pressure to have to hurry up and get it done! :)  Yay me!

Here are all of the supplies I used to create my card today:

If you'd like to play along please leave me a comment or even better share  pictures of your cards as we go along!

I hope you are enjoying what is left of the weekend!  Be sure to stop back by!  I have lots more to share with you!
